Mambo, Mambo-ing, Mamboz!

29 December 2011

One, two three four five...  Everybardy it's the mambo night!  Yeo's bluff-ed me that Yesterday was the last Mambo... and in actual fact, it was the last Mambo of the Year not forever lah!  ++Tiew!++  Can you believe it... this was my FIRST MAMBO!  Erm... maybe second time to Velvet Underground (was there once for a Reseller Night) and that's about it.  ++So mountain tortotise...  >_<++

I met the gang at Zouk directly because I had RSVP-ed to attending my Secondary School Reunion along Bussorah Street (not much hoooha... but just catching up with old faces, chit chatting and cam-whoring!  The Chinese guys were such hum-chee, on FB wall mouth talk only, PUI... in the end non of them turn up and it's like a Muslim community gathering!  Only Chinese turn-ups were Me, Jade, Hui and Juay.  LOL!  We left the place about 9-ish.)

FWAH.  It was close to 10pm when I reached Zouk and no joke, the queue was freaking looooooooooong (all the way right to the inside-est carpark)...  The trios already have their hands chopped and even went for their dinner before I got there.  Luckily me have CitiBank CC, and it was the Ladies Night and there was a special queue there hence it doesn't take me more than 5mins to get it.

The DJ was such a disappointment.  We weren't mambo-ing until 12midnight.  GOSH.  I am so blardly tried after standing there for hours without seats and listening to non-mambo songs, really feel like throwing down the glasses of wines at him.  My poor legs almost broke, you know!  But we had fun screaming and enjoying 'live performances' from those chaps on the dance floor, expressing each and every hand gesture movements along with the song lyrics (btw, this happened only after 12midnight).  This is amazing.  Each. And. Every. Word. Ok.  They all have many patterns one... LOL!

After mamboz, we left for supper - ah Hua Bak Kut Teh.  Woo-ishy nice.  Hot soup to end a cold cold and tiring night.  Me concused at 3.30am and with less than 4hours of sleep, I am off to work.  ++KUDOS to myself++  Me super stonned now, trying to refrain myself from walking too much... hope to catch some beauty sleep at facial time.  ++ZZZZZZZZZZzzzz++

H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y P O P A!!!

27 December 2011

阿爸,生日快乐!

Celebrated Popa's Birthday at The Buffet, M Hotel...  It was such a good weather for steamboat together with my loved ones!  The Tom Yam, Laska and Superior Stock soup was superb (Moma enjoyed her Laska pot, keep giving praises to it... nice nice!).  They too, have wide selection of desserts to choose from...  Popa doesn't like cake so we make do without one this year and ended the night with a toast (complimentary from aunt Joyce's voucher... heh)!

We LOVE you Daddy and we know that you know too!
Muacks!!

HXDA Christmas Gathering!

26 December 2011

Ding dong ding dong!  It's once a year HXDA Christmas gathering gift exchange!  Dinner was at Buffet Town located basement 1, Raffles City Shopping Centre.  Guess what, Thomas also had his first round of gift exchange luncheon there too!

Thanks to the co-founder again, we never fail to have different games during gift exchange.  This year, we had 中级密码 and this little device will give you a SHOCK if you kena the correct number!  But the most classic stuff about this exchange was... the 43man will always bear that tag <do not take Nigel's pressie!!!> and for the ONE who gotten his pressie will have a curse for the rest of the year.... (because we will all NAG about it WHOLE year!)

In 2009, the 43man gift-wrapped a piggy bank stuffed with $10 worth of 1cents coins and moving on to 2010, he never learnt his lesson and gotten series of 武林密集 notebooks.  Unfortunately, this spell was casted onto Munic... he was swearing it for the consecutive two years!  Since then, the items that 43man gift were already listed in the banned items.  ++KUDOS to 43man!++

This year, his pressie consisted of 3 CDs of CT girls CNY collection and some mahjong card games... FWAH... this spell has now passed on to Helena... she's such a kind soul and knowning that the pressie was from 43man, she also did not insist in re-exchange with others (there are more PK games to play in order NOT to re-exchange lousy pressies!)...  and best part of this gift exchange was, her expression when opening the pressie... P R I C E L E S S !  ++LOL++

SIN/BKK/SIN - Day 6 & 7

25 December 2011

Merry Christmas from Bangkok!  Ho ho ho!

We spent the rest of our days in Bangkok exploring the new mall, Terminal 21... and celebrated our Christmas Eve dinner at the mall!

Named for its' resemblance to an airport terminal and its' location at Sukhumvit 21, Terminal 21 is located next to the busy Asoke BTS... about 10mins stroll from our hotel!  Each floor of this mall has different theme based on various cities around the world, so its' like travelling to a new cities when you hit each floor.  We were gaga-ing over the in-mall decorations and camera went snaping non-stop!

Here we have the Caribbean theme, Rome and Paris, San Francisco, Istanbul City, London, Tokyo and even Hollywood!

Our Christmas Eve dinner at Moom-Muum Park Restaurant / Pizza, Pama ham & cheese, Salad and cocktails / Festive decorations at the mall / Went for massage at Goldne Lotus > the masseuse was GREAT (will go back next trip)! / Our in-room entertainment and tibits for the night!

The gift of love.  The gift of peace.  The gift of happiness.
May all these be yours, yours and YOURS at Christmas!

ah Thiang and I sending Christmas wishes with lots of love from the Land of Smiles.
Merry Christmas!

Final Selection of Bridal Day Gowns and Evening Gowns!

18 December 2011

Too much wedding celebrations and errands running the whole of December and in less than 7 days and it is CHRISTMAS!

This year's Christmas going to be very special because I will be in Bangkok for work (not sad not sad... imma not feeling sad...) and ah Thiang will be celebrating Christmas with me in Bangkok too!  And in the foreign land, we have the "just married" couple spending their honeymoon in Bangkok as well (this is confirmed not pre-arranged!!! I only know they will be there the same week as us) and so 巧, we have the same flight back to SG on 25 December (not sure of their flight back to SG)!  We shall arrange a good date to meet up to celebrate Christmas in the land of smiles.  :))

For now, updating pictorial of Today's gowns selection before I am off to the land of smiles - I have yet less than 4hours of sleep before I need to be at the airport and thank god, this is the last biz trip before we close the year 2011!

I thanked the Yeo's and Jade for spending time with us at the bridal shop... (this round took us another 5hours of searching for the ONE Day Gown, Evening Gown, Tea Dress and ROM Dress)!  All are brand new new NEW... therefore I can only snap them when I am un-noticed.  We also collected the edited 20% pre-wedding photos today... planning to have our pre-wedding photos printed onto the stamps when sending the invites out to our guests...  Imma going to check out how does the SingPost wedding stamps work before we sending in our photos for massive stamps-production!  Hopefully it is not too expensive.  :)

My Day & Evening Gowns on the RIGHT of the racks! > ROM Dress > Tea Dress > Freesia hand bouquet - simple and elegant to match my Vera Wang-wanabe gown!

Vivian & Shane's Wedding Celebrations!

10 December 2011

Our 12hours of fun!

Celebrating this joyous occassion with the Sapura Team again!

Vivian & Shane invited almost the whole company for their wedding celebrations at Grand Straits Garden, JB.  They even booked two busses to ferry Singapore guest over for the celebrations.  We had our very own driver – Edna, and we arranged to meet up hours before the dinner starts.  This included a drive to Johor Premium Outlets, having a very late lunch at Taang Shifu and shopping!

After getting our loots (I bought mainly infant’s attires… for Luther’s girl and Gloira’s boy), we headed down to the restaurant… missed two exits and we finally reach the destination.  Everyone had fun and drinking with the groom… there is an Eclipse on that evening!

We ended the night with a late-night massage… Benny & I went for foot massage and Edna & ah Thiang went for full body massage…  This is what I called shiok-ness!

In less than 12hours, we will be running our own wedding errands!  HAPPY HAPPY weekend!  :))

Imma behind the wheels!

9 December 2011

Some random photos showing off me behind the wheels (secretly) while my SengSeng-O is away holiday-ing with his GF in HK/China/Macau!  I heard they went for this trip to support his friend who plans to propose to the GF de wor!  And this reminded me of how ah Thiang had his first trial of proposal when we were holiday-ing in Bangkok 2years back.  Whoooooot!

This week is me eating dinner with my family week and I can see that my tum tum area is growing extra "ba" oready.  :((  My ah Thiang on reserbist WHOLE week (ok, not whole but most of the days in the week)! :(

Crab fiesta with Moma & Popa / Dinner at my favorite western stall at Old Kallang Airport Road Hawaker > ah Gong had the same crave as moi > both of us having Yummy pork chops! / Getting ready to bling my toes this Xmas!

Tonight is Munic's bachelor night... and no luck still, Imma not invited to his party.  ++BOO!++  But, Imm has a separate date with 王大叔 and Julie tonight > catching up the old gossips!  Tomorrow, we are heading to JB to attend Vivian and Shane's wedding celebration!  ++Yummmmmmmm yum yum yummmmm SENG!++

环岛吃吃吃!

4 December 2011

All about food, food and food this weekend!

Invited to Nicolas house-warming at his new pat – Shunfu Road… our ‘dinner’ was cooked by GFs of his buddies… nice pasta, chicken wings and salad!  Love his lady Gaga art on his chalkboard wall.  After the “Sapura Gathering”, it’s our usual movie weekend with the Yeo’s and at 2am, we had Nasi Lemak for supper!  I must say, I am “sleep-eating”!  But luckily I had some food before going home as my tum tum was already growling when the plate of goodness was served on my table.

Attended 好兄弟大会… Munic chair-ed this meeting to discuss the duties and scopes of the brothers on his actual wedding day.  We were treated some nice dinner at Dome @ Bishan CC (ahem… I contributed part of the dinner with my discount card...).  I ordered the Xmas set – Apple Braised Pork Neck Tortilla and it comes with a slice of Xmas log cake!  Really Yums!

ah Thiang bought a 2nd hand Tonika 11-16mm lens and the deal is to be collected at Prince Edward Park.  After he collected his lens, we met the Yeo’s at Taka for the additional 10% sale… finally bought my Chole perfume!!!  ah Thiang paid for my purchase as my Xmas pressies!  YAY!

We had udon for brunch, taco pachi for snacks and makan didn’t stop here…  We went Funan to get filter for his new lens... then my crave for strawberry ice-cream made us detour all the way back from Funan to Bukit Timah – Island Creamery!  I suggested to have Nasi Lemak after ice-cream session but suddenly craved for frog porridge… so we drove all the way back to Serangoon for the pots of goodness!  (the drive from Bukit Timah to Serangoon wasn’t that bad lah….).  满足 for all my cravings!!!

FWAH... my weekend full of makan-ess!  Blissed.  :))

Eggcitement Moments at our Wedding Photography Selection

2 December 2011

December is the month where REAL wedding preparation begins...  We will start to make appointments and meet our hotel coordinator for the banquet arrangements, another round of actual-wedding day gowns selections, then fittings... bridal trial make-up... WHOOT WHOOT!!!

Selection of wedding peektures is a very nervous, an eggciting and very painful process.  You must possess the following criteria when you are going through this process:

> your bank’s health condition
> you must not have a weak heart
> be firm
> must be able to resist all sort of temptations
> be very negotiable!!!!

We are so eggcited to start deciding on the photos for our wedding album... now on the selection part... this will be hard... VERY!

First, you feel very nervous whether or not your photos will turn out nice… what if it is no nice… (and I heard there are cases like bridal shop’s HDD crashed and all photos are GONE, and you are only left with weeks to your BIG day… then siao liao lor…!).

Secondly, very eggciting because you get bery HIGH seeing all the beautifuuuuul photos lying all over the table to choose… and trust me, you will want each and every one of them into your album.

Lastly… feeling torturous and painful, because on one hand you want to keep to your budget and save money… another hand, you cannot resist the temptation of not getting the beautifuuuuuul photos into your album.

After all the haggling of prices to pay for the OVER-numbered photos from the selection, you will pay the price for it.  Something we learnt from Yesterday’s selection, everything also no need money to pay… because you have the ‘bird bird card’… their ‘bird bird card’ aka Visa card!  ++trolled face++  And finally, after your ‘bird bird card’ has been swiped thru the little card slider… and I tell you, this is PAINFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUL… especially when you signing on the dotted line… I feel ah Thiang... eventhough I am not the one signing on the dotted line.  :P

> 1st round (2 batches > indoor and outdoor): 150+ photos
> Eliminated about half of the stack of photos > cost as at 1st round, S$4000+ (wft)
> 2nd round: managed to take out few more ‘sets’ but it kinda affect the ‘flow’ of the album > cost as at 2nd round, S$2700+
> Show hand: traded in our mini-album and a 8R table top photoframe… and minus a few pieces then plus sneak back 1-2pieces into the set to make it more complete > final price S$2088 = total 57pieces w/raw & edited images of selected photos in CD + actual selected sample photos

… and taaaaadaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!  Our peektures after the battle which lasted for nearly 3.5hrs!

Initial layout will only be ready 1st week February 2012...   Imma can't wait... Imma can't wait!

An eggciting December awaits!!!

Mediterranean-style Marché!

28 November 2011

ah Thiang suggested to go Somerset for dinner today but didn't say where... so we went to try out some dining places that used to have long Q over the weekend BUT no Q on weekdays > so we went MEDZS.  HAHA, Imma so right... there was NO Q!  So happy...

MEDZS - a mediterranean-style restaurant seating 200pax, located basement 2 Orchard Central offers a total of eight gourmet stations ranging from France to Morocco to Greece etc.  Concept is similar to Marché - cashless card dining.  But one thing that differs from Marché is that they have a WIDE-er range of beers (mainly 1-1 promo) and a cool looking beer cellar right at a cosy corner in the restaurant!  ah Thaing confirmed no missed such 1-1 beer promo de lor...

After our dinner, we took a scroll along the orchard road... WOW, so kisssstmas feelin - maybe we should organize a photo-taking session along Orchard road... with so many nice deco all over and the after-rain weather making feelin so winter man...!  I lurve Christmas!!!

ah Thiang's preeetee angel wih new wing-accessory!  :)

Black Friday!

25 November 2011

It's been a stressful work week for me (more and more daily meetings and trying to catch up with each and single task at work + new task from each meetings!!!).  Stressed coping with work and family matters at the same time...  I don't think I slept well for the past 4 nights... F O U R (know how damaging it can be to a bride-to-be loosing F O U R nights of beauty sleep?!?!?!?! how to catch up and stay pretty like that???), duper stressed... but imma still thankful for today is FRIDAY!

Today is Black Friday - the day following Thanksgiving Day in the USA, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season... happy to say, this weekend gona start our Christmas shopping spree!!!!  ++eyesglittering at long list of xmas wishlistsssssssssss!++

Imma week in peektures: Self-tainment (camwhore-ing) while Ikea guys at work > Outfits for the week - lovin' my hearty blouse from H&M, I love 'em all!

Be present in all things and thankful for all things.  Happy Thanksgiving!  Imma truly blessed.  :)

Thanks to Jasmine, today I get to enjoy FREE lunch at The Garden @ Sentosa Resort & Spa Hotel!  It's an organic fine dining 5-star restaurant.  The hotel sales manager wanted to thank our company for organizing this Asia Pacific Meeting with CEO and country heads from APAC at their hotel!  ++HEH++

谁说天下没白吃的午餐?  At least it's FREE for me...  :))

Housekeeping All Week!

20 November 2011

It's been a WHOLE week of housekeeping-hoooha in the office!  Everyone busy-ing spring-cleaning their work stations to prepare the arrival of our CEO and country heads of the rest of Asia Pacific to our office next Tuesday.  And me, being a neat freak and there is no such thing as last mintue spring cleaning... hence, I casted myself as an errand-lady running to/fro Ikea, Bras Basah, Sim Lim, back Ikea... just to beautify the panty and office!  And Monday, I am runing back to Bras Basah to collect another poster and back to Sim Lim to buy the headset!  ++TIRESOME!++

Oh boy!  It's a shopping weekend - went Ikea-ing to finalize the bed/room furnishing and arranged delivery/installation will be on Thursday (that means I have to apply leave to help out in another 'spring-cleaning' process!)...  DUDE!  ++Can't wait to TIDY up the room!  NO more excuses for ah Thiang to have a messy room from this weekend onwards!  HIACK HIACK++

Well, I must say sometimes I am easily touched by ah Thiang's kind/sweet gesture... it's SWEET de lor... just by doing something simple and plus his thought that counts, it really made my day.  Man, you know what... he has another wedding invitation today so, supposingly not meeting him de... but he came over just to deliver tubs of silk-smooth 豆花!  VERY SHWEEEEEEEEEEEET and very 耐死!  :))  ++TOUCHED right?!?!  ALL the way leh...++

OKAY....  touching note aside, My Jay Chou 11th album is being released on Friday... and I am meeting Thomas on Monday who helped to collect my pre-order!!!  YAY!  ++humming, "mine mine... (mine...)..." SO HIGH!++  ... can't wait, can't wait!!!

Meeting the gals at CrazyWorld Cafe > Dinner @ Mad for Garlics > Enjoying TGIF @ 爱琴海 > Shopping weekend @ Ikea!

A Fulfilling Weekend!

13 November 2011

A LONG post with many peektures over the weekend!

We attended Converse "The Right to Stand out" event hosted by Sim Cik on Saturday... support support!  Event was held in CKTang level 3...  I even submitted my 'Masterpiece' to stand a chance of wining a S$100 vouchers but we were running late for Trelia's Birthday Bash party invited by Edna hence we left early to buy present so didn't go back and see if I have won a prize for my piece of art... wanted to get a pair of Converse sneakers for the longest time but after much consideration and I don't forsee that I will be wearing sneakers with jeans that often... therefore I scrapped the idea...  Maybe I should just buy a pair of Martens!  ++GRIN-ing++

We didn't manage to gatecrash Giselle's Closet's studio photoshoot (same timing as the Converse event) but we met the Yeos' for supper after the Birthday Bash!  :)  The supper place (a street across Mustafa) serves very very VERY NICE looking Wanton Mee... after confirmation with Yeo and yes, the Wanton Mee is GOOD.  We are going back for the meeeeeeeeeeee soon!

On Sunday, Dennis & Rachael invited the families over for their house-warming party cum Uncle Mickey's 70th Birthday celebrations!  Their new bungalow is SUPER HUGE lor... like a 3-storey unit with a basement with entertainment hall, guests hall, mahjong room, music room, 3 bedrooms and a jacuzzi + swimming pool (sheltered!!!)... we loved their dog - Princess!  She is so well-behaved... ++LOVES++

ah Thiang dressed up so hippie for the Converse event! > @ Converse event! > My masterpiece > Uncle Mickey's 70th Birthday Bash > Fun time with Princess!

My heart sank when ah Thiang told me that Kristin's father passed on on Friday.  We left the HUGE bungalow to sending our condolences to Kristin.  He was diagnosed with 4th stage lung cancer but the death was caused by heart attack...  We were surprised to meet the MP, Ms Sylvia from the WP at the wake... she was there to send her condolences on behalf of the constituency.  They even sent blanket to the wake!  ++nice thoughts++

After the wake, we left the wake to meet ah Hai.  Yes, to the vintage / karang guni restaurant to place our deposit and confirmed our wedding car on our BIG day!  Awwwww....  There we saw their new addition to their fleets... the ANG BAO red VW Kombi Hippie Bus!  YES.  ONE and only soft-top sunroof in SG!  :)))

Previously there was only one Olive green color bus but now... they have FOUR to their collections!  Olive green, Ang Bao red, baby blue and baby pink.... YES, PINK!  But pink won't be ready until March 2012... and ah Thiang no like the idea of pink...  ++DANG!++  We only left with like green and red... and so the color red is be a better choice over the green for my NEON theme... and Moma is OK with it too!  ++YAY!!!++

November rain.

It was still raining heavily when we were there and decided to have our dinner there.  But, the sky is still POUR-ing after we are done with our dinner!  We're kinda STILL stucked in the rain at the restaurant.  The owner was very kind, he walked out to us and offered us a ride in his Kombi bus to the nearest MRT Station!  ++Shweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet right?!?!?!  Just like a test ride on our wedding car!  Jade is so excited about this post!!!++  He sounded like he's joking but after we gave him that "sure bo"-look... he quickly hoped onto the bus with his apron and start the engine!  WOW... I tell you... all eyes are on us when we alighted the Kombi bus at the taxi stand!  ++ENVY right?!?!?!++

Now, all our 兄弟姐妹s will get an exclusive ride and a photo-taking session with the beautiful couple on their BIG day... So, who wants to be part of the 兄弟姐妹团?  Registration opens for a limited time only!  :P

Ang Bao-red VW Kombi Hippie Bus > softtop sunroof (ONE and only in SG)! > ah Thiang so excited at the front passenger seat! > Very special car plate!

Happy Short Week Ahead!

8 November 2011

YAY!  Starting my 1st work day after a loooooooooooong week of leave for my bridal photoshoot and a loooooooooong weekend... feeling so lost coming to work... almost forget how to go to office in the morning!  And counting down... 3 more days to another weekend!  HOOT!!!

Last Sunday Popa, Moma and I went for brunch nearby Farrer Park MRT - after walking to first 2 choices of places we wanted brunch there (kopishop next street to Mustafa for satay, fried carrot cake etc... and Swee Choon for dim sum!) but was closed.  CLOSED on a Sunday... a BAD choice!  Ended up having atas mix pork organ soup...  Popa says they have another main branch at Lavender foodcourt which is MUCH much nicer so we are not coming back here!  >_<"  After brunch, we went shopping at Robinsons (Moma bought me new luggage!  SALE SALE SALE!  It was a 29" white luggage!!!  Cool ah!  My red spiddy can stay home liao...), we met the Yeo's for dinner at Spageddies... man, they are under-staffed!  Service super slow... no like!!!  It was a bad service Sunday.  :(

Spent our long weekend with the Yeo's by indulging ourselves with ice-creams (scopes and tubs of them!), evening walk with the dogs and ending the night with kopi-ing at my "That Coffee Place" after dinner at Long House!  Me becoming a bridezilla in no time!

See the new cover I got onto my iPhone 4?  ah Thiang bought me this cuteeeeeeeeeeee earphone jack accessory to top off my Kate Spade cover!  ++SHWEEEEEEET++  And over lunch today, I spotted the cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee earphone jack accessory (which he said it looks cool when we saw it over the internet) while I was looking for fushia pink USB cables!  I FOUND IT!  I FOUND IT!!  ... and I BOUGHT IT!  Gona surprise him with this little pressie!  :)

Rock with Elmo! > Dinner at Spageddies > New cover and earphone jack accessory for my NEW iPhone > ice-cream indulgence over the long weekend > Yummy 卤鸭饭 > spotted a bling-ed car door on our way home!

Just received a call from bridal shop... our photos will be ready for preview on 1 December!  Imma happy girl tonight!  ++SMILING FROM EAR TO EAR!++

5 November 2011

ah Thiang collected his new toy Yesterday!

Yes, iPhone 4S... and it's mine turn to upgrade to iPhone 4... abit 舍不得 to part away with my current KS cover which I mearly changed it like less than a quarter.  After our dinner we went shopping at Singtel shop at Ion... trying to spend his $500 vouchers from Singtel yearly reward plan (well, kinda....).  We spent like almost 2hrs in the shop trying to 'spend' that $500!  Haha... I got myself some cool toy too!

The usual plan is nowhere to go after all retail shops were closed... so we all head down to MBS... visited the LV store... catch the Wonder Full at MBS (light and water show by the riverside)... and have 'tea & cakes' at High Society (excuse ourselves... it was like 12.30am when we decided to have tea for supper!) then I have craving for bak chor mee... and the Yeos' thought I meant the 'dry' bak chor mee... but I was refering to the soup bak chor mee at 85Bedok!  Didn't go all the way to Bedok lah but drove towards Serangoon to have porridge instead... we ended our night about 2.30am!

Long Q to Ion carpark and we got ourselves valet service! > ah Thiang's new toy - iPhone 4S in white > my super uber cool handset > view from LV store at MBS > Wonder Full at MBS > Cafe-ing at High Society at MBS!

Wedding Photoshoot - Behind the scenes!

4 November 2011

We did our wedding photoshoot yesterday!  We did not have a perfect weather but everything else was PERFECT - Cecilia the Makeup Artist, Jeffrey the Photographer, Jessie the 丫嬛 and the caring Groom-to-be!

We arrived at the stuido slightly 5mins before 10am and we started doing my make up already.  There were total 3 couples at the studio yesterday and two of them were late.  Due to a catering set up to be done at SNM  in the afternoon, we were told to change plan and go out to SNM earlier for outdoor shoot right after my 1st gown and come back for the indoor shoot next.  Weather was drizzling lightly when we make our way to SNM... managed to do fair bit of shoot indoor and outdoor...  WOW, it was always the case when I took photos of bridal couples having their photoshoot at some tourist attractions... and MINE turn came!!!  There was a tourist who took picture of me in my bridal gown and kept complimenting I AM A BEAUTIFUL BRIDE!  ++SO PROUD... heh!++

We came back to studio to do 3rd set of styling for indoor shoot... afterwhich, we changed 4th set of styling for outdoor shoot and head to Colbar then to my Tree!  Weather started to rain when we got to the Saddle Club and we thought having a break while waiting for the rain to stop... the rain stopped when our food arrived, and we dashed out for the shoot and got Jessie to jaga our food... so impromptu again!  LUCKILY we did that... after we ended our shoot, it started to rain again!  With all the traffic jam during peak hour, we ended back at the bridal shop closed to 7.30pm and all done for the day!  YAY!!!

Preview only be ready in two weeks time... can't wait to see how ah Thaing looked like when he 'try to smile'....!  ++LOL++

Some unofficial shots of the day!  Glam anot?!?!?!  :P

SIN/FRA/SIN - Home Sweet Home!

2 November 2011

我肥来了!

Spent last day in Frankfurt wandering around on the streets.  Went Zara Home to get some pressie for our darling friend who is now into home diffusers and gotten them a home frangance.  Irratited - the cashier trying to con me 6 Euros and pretending not to understand me trying to tell him he has shortchanged me... I wasted like half the day telling him to gift wrap my purchase separately and about my tax-free receipts.

I got to the airport super early and counters weren't open for check in and I have waited like 1.5hrs before I can check in my baggage and bring my purchases to claim VAT.  FWAH, my total baggages weighed 32kg!  I have to hand-carry my laptop which also latter causes my pullover to 'ki mo'... :(

Again irratited by the custom officer, he simply refused to stamp the 'departure' stamp onto the same page as my arrival!  When I showed him MY SINGAPOREAN attitude, bascially flipping back to the page where he should stamp, he flipped back to where he has stamped and ignored me.  DANG!

I think I am the cause of the delay of my flight taking off...  My seats' table tray just could not work properly and gotten the ground staff and fixed it for me... he took quite a while and seemed he also can't do it hence I was re-assigned to another centre aisle seat... blessing in disguised, me have TWO seats to put my stuffs and stretched my legs for the price of ONE!

Flight back was good... after my 'dinner' on board, I fell asleep (of course, during the flight was awaken to adjust my legroom etc...) and when I was totally awake, it was like 7am (my watch) so I guessed I have slept through like good 5-6hours!

ah Thiang came and fetch me... and sent me home to unpack my stuffs.  I too, can't wait to give him his present - bought him a Lego Technic Motor Car!  He was of course uber excited.... and after 30mins of unpacking, we were off for our bridal fitting... and did a last minute wedding errands at Mustafa... ended our night at about 1am!

Today is another wedding errands and grooming day before our photoshoot tomorrow!  YAY!

Cute home slippers from Zara Home > Man, German is tough. Including the bread! > View from Zeil Galerie > me being 九哲 about my passport! > drama drama on the flight back - ground staff trying to fix my tray table!

SIN/FRA/SIN - Day 7

30 October 2011

Happy Hallowiiiiiinn!

I woke up late today, normally by 8am latest I would have left the hotel but this morning at 9am I am still snuggling in the bed.  Woowooooo~  Feeling so lazy today...  It was super cold because when I draw up the curtains, I saw the floor was wet - rained has just stopped.

I left the room to explore the non-shopping area in Frankfurt - the Dom Tower, Romer, St. Paul's Church, Old Opera House, Berger Strasse, The Hauptwache and found Goethestraße where the branded stuffs are...  Didn't explore the main tower because there is a BMW Marathon Run and main roads are all closed.

Daylight saving has started since Yesterday, therefore now is +7hrs... that means I have an hour longer than Yesterday... GOD... time passes really SLOWLY when you've got nothing to do!

Tomorrow's schedule is to "hoot" the branded streets, pay a visit to the roof terrace of Zeilgalerie and enjoy the breathtaking view of the skyline before I leave for the airport!

My new buy from H&M > BMW Marathon setup beside my hotel > Dom Tower > Kopi-ing along Zeil Street (catching up with the marathon) > along the riverside - OMG Autumn is so beautiful! > At the Iron Bridge (Eiserner Steg) - found many lockets on the bridge!

ZOMG!  IMMA GOING HOME!!!!!
Auf wiedersehen Frankfurt!
Goodbye Frankfurt!

SIN/FRA/SIN - Day 6

29 October 2011

Hallo Guten Tag Frankfurt!
Hello Frankfurt!

After spending 6 days in Cologne, today I leave for Frankfurt.  It was TOTALLY a challenge to push two trolleys on my journery here (I am aching all over now)... and everywhere is people mountain people sea... weather is about 19degree and it was not cold... why I know... it's because thats when my face turned oily like when I am in Singapore!  Hopefully tomrrow will be a cooler day - I am exploring the city all by foot!  (the helpful lady at the hotel reception told me no need to spend money pay for city tour... all walk-able...)

All ready to go! > Just when I was about to check out, I found I have accidently bent-ed my key and I cannot lock my spidery! While I was going to the supermarket along Zeil street, I passedby the key master and the kind-soul hammered back my key at NO cost! Now it is in good shape and I can lock my spidery liao! > Leaving for Frankfurt > My adventure starts now - in the barn with two luggages and trying to find my way to hotel! > Street view outside my hotel > At Zeil street!

Beautiful morning in Köln > my lunch ticket... Bon Appétit > Day 5 at igus - Sunny.  Very sunny! > riding on the mini motor-bike... vroom VROOM > hitting the shopping streets again > skimpy cowboy on the streets!

SIN/FRA/SIN - Day 1

23 October 2011

Grüß dich Singapur!!!
Hello Singapore!!!

Today is Sunday, Day 1 in Cologne - It is 6hours behind SG time (so now it is 5.31pm.... very very drowsy NOW!  I can hear church bells ringing in my room...)

I arrived last evening close to mid-night...  Had a bad rushy experience rushing to check in my train/rail to Cologne - SQ flight delayed in landing in Frankfurt... and my baggage came out late and with a 'bandage'!  Think the luggage side gave way alittle and the ground staff taped it with masking tape (oh, I didn't take any pictures... heng it survired this flight... weighting 19.9KG when I checked in!!!).  Me run and rush like mad... luckily I made it on time to catch my train...  ++PANT pant-ing pant-ed++

Moi plan changed, instead of alighting at Cologne station, I alighted at Siegburg Bahnhof station so that the taxi can pick me to hotel, about 20mins ride (because taxis here don't pick up customer if the distance is too near...).  The Mercs Taxi drove in the speed of 140-160km/h (the ride from train station to hotel cost like Euro 51)!  Very fast.  I reached hotel and after unpacking, I only slept at 12.30am local time (6.30am SG time) and I woke up 6.30am local time for breakfast... ++ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz++

Weather today is sunny and cold but OK... not OK was the windy part that made me tear and nose wet.  Everywhere, thermometer outside of the building measures differently (one measures 19, another one 6 and last one I saw was 0)... so I also don't know how cold it really was.

Sunday is a WINDOW-shopping day... all shops are closed.  Nothing to buy... only SEE.  There are many H&M outlets along the streets...  Found the Rimowa flagship store... now Watsapp-ing - in discussion whether to buy or no buy... buy what model.... HAHA!  A 27" (63litres) will cost like Euro 389...  CHEAP right?  Now the Yeo's are comptemplating whether to buy or not.  HEH!

I have like another 1.5hrs to go before dinner... hopefully I can doze off RIGHT after dinner...  Tomorrow will be a LONG day... bus will pick us up at 7.15am local time...  I have to wake up like 5.30am local time!!!  BRrrrrrrrrrrrrr~

Breakfast at Cristall / Autumn lookbook No.1 attire (very autumn feel especially taken with the leaves right!?!?!) - heading to Dom / Dom Cathedral / lunch at Früh Kölsch, Brauhaus Köln / Turkish demostrating beside the Dom

Pre-Birthday Celebrations for my ah Thiang!

21 October 2011

I planned my surprised advance birthday celebration waayyyyyyy before I leave for Germany... yes, as early as two weeks in advance!  Pre-booked a "party of two" at Morton's The Steakhouse on 15 October... a lomantic dinner just the two of us - restaurant had his name printed on the menu and decorated our tables with little confetti!  Very nice dining ambience, staffs were very friendly (walked us thru the WHOLE menu with her super power memory...!) and very helpful (offered to take photos for us when they saw me took out my camera...!).  ++IMPRESSED!++

I did my homework before coming to Morton's.  Read through the online reviews, I am warned of the HUGE serving portions but still... anyways, we ordered the 3-course steak & seafood combo set... at S$108++/pax and it comes with the following:
  1. caesar salad - YUMS, very nicely tossed with their blue cheeses... many leaves, so crunchy and juiceeee... HAHA
  2. a single cut of filet mignon...
  3. and a choice of either scallops, prawns and crab cake...
We also ordered espresso martinni and lobster bisque to our meal.  The waiter suggested we spilt into two servings... so glad we did...!  After our dinner, the staff showed us a TRAY of deserts for the day although knowing that we are too full to place any desert order and whats' more, the restaurant has already informed us that they will throw in a free hot chocolate molten cake to celebrate his birthday!  ++Shwweeeeeeet!++  The staff took a photo of us with the cake and gave it to us in a Morton's pouch, hand-signing off "Happy Birthday Arthur from Mortons!"  ++AWwwwwwwwwwwwwh++

Almost every table are celebrating birthdays at Morton's!  HAHA.  Total bill cost me over S$300+...  (well, now I have lesser to spend for my Germany trip...) but what matters most is ah Thiang enjoyed himself!  YAY!

After dinner, we met Yeo to catch the movie <<Real Steel>>... everyone says good... Pauline even wants to watch the second time!  ++SURE BO???++  I find it so-so nia... alright lah....

So... another birthday celebration with the Yeos' on 16 October!  Jess says celebrate same weekend because I won't be around the weekend next... and she is buying us dinner!  They have birthday lunch with Serene after church service, so we only met up for dinner and drinks... we went Antoinette at Mandarin Gallery... another atas dining place... their foie gras wasn't as nice (or you called it JUICER) than Shin Kushiya... I only steal alittle bite from Jess's plate.  :P  As usual, we ordered a sliced of their signature cake and wisper Birthday song to ah Thiang!  We went drinking at Malones Irish pub after dinner located at Somerset 313 and Jess developed rashes after the drinks... hope she recover her rashes by now...

Await for the last surprise to ah Thaing while I'm away in Germany.... gotten Jasmine to arrange to courier the 'present' to ah Thiang on 24th October... hopefully he is in office to recieve it personally!  Woooo wooooo!!!

Wedding Celebration of Peirong & Kenneth!

18 October 2011

Peirong's 的大喜之日!

Today I am celebrating the end to our 2-days Regional Meeting and my BFF's wedding!  Leaving for Cologne this weekend - YAY! Yay! YAY!!!

It was pouring so heavily on our way to Goodwood Park Hotel...  There is some myth & legends about weddings on rainy day...  Wealth pouring down from sky or you are 'meow'... HAHA!  Not saying my BFF 'meow' lah...  :)

In my vivid memory... I only seen Kenneth once when I was working as p/time MAC makeup artist and that was like a decade ago!  I was only glancing him from FARRRRRRRRRRRRR...  He never join us on our gatherings - NOT even once, at most only pick Juay after our gathering... so I really really don't know much about him.  Sad.

Anyways, they have been together since poly days... and I am so happy for Juay that she has finally settled down (jumped Q... supposed to me mine first!).  ++heh heh++  OKAY, I'll start to plan mine when I come back from my trip... woooooooo~

15 Minutes with the Girlfriends!

15 October 2011

Last evening gathering was meant to be a mini-impromptu hen's party for Juay but the hen has to go for her mani+pedicure and trial makeup session with the bridal shop... hence, only the usual of us met up and post-celebrate Pauline's belated birthday instead.  Gloria unable to join us this time because her Carys' wasn't feeling too well... and all partners turned up except for ah Thiang...  ++pauline asking for you, you know...++

He attended his first YEC meeting at Tampines (remember?).  After the meeting... he, Simcik, Veny, Connie (friend of Veny, another newly joined-YEC member) and Jessica (one of SC's BFF) met up for supper at Geylang's Korean BBQ and they ended the Friday night at almost 2am in the morning!  Ok lah, he did call me to asked if I want to join... but I bathed already when he called and was lazy to dress up again... so I did not join them...  (now missing Korean BBQ!++BOOOOO!++

Anyways... Huihui recommended this cafe, 15 Minutes located at Lasalle... food was not too bad (consolation prize for missing the Korean BBQ!  HAHA)... they had a live-band performances... but only "Happy Birthday" song was sang best - me and Jade were rather they sang the same song over and over the whole night!!!  >_<"

I am so looking forward to the surprised advance birthday dinner I have planned for ah Thiang later tonight and yes, dinner session with Yeo's on Sunday... so more updates on the next blog post for his birthday celebrations!!  ++WHOOOOT!++

SIN/VN/SIN - Day 3

06 October 2011

An apple a day keeps the doctor away however it did not keep cancer away.  RIP Mr Jobs.

News of the passing today of Mr Steve Jobs are everywhere.  He dies, aged 56 after long battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was a legend and legends' 的宿命 - 早死。Michael Jackson, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Bruce Lee and Steve Jobs... You'll be missed.

Day 1 of METALEX VN 2011... quite a fair bit of crowd at the booth... just finished sending my reporting for the show... and tomorrow meeting me boss to go "marketing"!  He said he cannot go back empty-handed... his doors at home will not open for him.  ++he and his senses of humour!++  So 可怜 therefore, I am bringing him to the market where I bought my cashew nuts and I too, needed to get another pair of bling shoe in silver.  :P

I will match my travel schedules with Kai Hua for the next and future exhibitions!  With him and Tien Dung (as local guide cum driver) to bring us around, everyday is a feast (compared to the last trip to VN, there wasn't any meal that was worth recommending).  Dinner today was early, we went to Three Coconut Trees Restaurants (Ba Cây Dùa).  There were only THREE coconuts along the street and that was the landmark!  Some what like SG no signboard restaurant... by the river... alfresco dining...  We had seafood... I think, I was too busy taking photos again...  LOL!

igus booth #D09 / Interactive robot that kept the crowd at METALEX VN 2011 entertained - singing "My Way" / Dining at Three Coconut Trees Restaurants (Ba Cây Dùa)

Tomorrow has an early "marketing" date with me boss before leaving for the airport... tucking into bed early!  ++ah Thiang, I AM COMING HOME LO!!!++  Muahahahaha~

SIN/VN/SIN - Day 2

05 October 2011

今天是农历九月初九,是中国传统的重阳节 and there are also many wedding celebrations all happening in Saigon including the couple at our hotel too!  祝有情人长长久久!:)  They even have bridesmaids all dresses up at the lobby welcoming guests to the banquet!  ++ideas coming...++

Talking about ideas...  I bought some neon nail polishes (MAC brand ok...) for my bridesmaids for my NEON NEON wedding theme too!  ++getting VERY excited!++  Also, my tasks to buy cashew nuts and G7 coffees are accompolished!  意外的收获 - I managed to get a pair of bling bling light gold heels for my photoshoot at only 200,000 VNDong (approx S$12.50)... and it's YAY!  But only realizing that my gowns are in offwhite and whites... so tomorrow or before my flight, I have to rush down and see if I can get a pair similar in silver color.  Dang.

Lunch was good... the duck noodle was nice, 黑鸡炖药材汤 - 好喝!  Kai Hua strongly recommended us to Hai Lua to eat suckling pig for dinner.  This meal cost us 1.7Million... in VNDong of course!  ++ROFL++

SIN/VN/SIN - Day 1

04 October 2011

Welcome to the land of Phở!

On my flight here, I was seated with two rowdy kids on board and just before the flight takes off, the stewardess even warned the kids softly to behave themself then bent over and asked if I would like to change my seats - I said YES.  And I do so after the flight took off!  Nice.  But after I was "re-seated", the ah pek at the window seat gave me that buay song look after I took 1 of the 2 empty seats beside him...  ++youthinkicare?!?!++

Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre is a much better place to setup and hold exhibition compared to MY, TH and ID!  There is a newly opened Saigon Paragon (anchor tenant - Parkson) located just opposite the convention centre.  The wonton mee at the basement food court was yummy, have 家乡味!  ++HAHA++

After the setup (which was already 3/4 completed and the convention centre is closing for the day...), we went back hotel and have a short briefing for tomorrow's plan and head out for dinner at Saigon Halal Restaurant.  WOW - the baby clam with fried garlic was DAMN BLARDY YUMMY!  MUST HAVES!  YUMS yums!!!

It was a wet evening and I am tucking in early for the night... tomorrow if time permits, I need to buy cashew nuts, G7 kopi... and neon orange nail polish for ah Ju!  ++MUAHAHAHA - she is getting ready for my BIG day!!!++

5 must-dos in HCMC / sending my love from Saigon / cool clock cum iPhone docking station in-room / 家乡味 wanton mee / Saigon Halal Restaurant
cà phê sữa đá; Vietnamese Ice Milk Coffee, I'm gona have you every single day!  ++LOL++

Our first ride on 小旋风!

30 September 2011

小旋风之 1 Fast 3 Furious (why 3... see below peektures)!

Last evening after our dinner and a briefing from ah Thaing on 'how to operate and set alarm...", we set off for our first ride on 小旋风 !  ++LOL++

Edna brought her two nieces along but they were so "sticky" towards her and refused to let her go on her own... and no choice, she had to stunt into this "Tricyclist"-mode.  She seemed to be very expert in this stunt, maybe she did alot of practice already.  ++HAHA!++

The weight for both ah Thiang and moi are too heavy for him to even balance himself before we can move off... so I only managed to seat behind him and snap a photo and we are on our own turns...  I didn't know cycling aroung my estate was so much fun!  Am sure going another ride this weekend.  :)

It's teeee-geee-ayeee-efffff! eeeee-yeeee-eeeehhh!  :)
