Our first ride on 小旋风!

30 September 2011

小旋风之 1 Fast 3 Furious (why 3... see below peektures)!

Last evening after our dinner and a briefing from ah Thaing on 'how to operate and set alarm...", we set off for our first ride on 小旋风 !  ++LOL++

Edna brought her two nieces along but they were so "sticky" towards her and refused to let her go on her own... and no choice, she had to stunt into this "Tricyclist"-mode.  She seemed to be very expert in this stunt, maybe she did alot of practice already.  ++HAHA!++

The weight for both ah Thiang and moi are too heavy for him to even balance himself before we can move off... so I only managed to seat behind him and snap a photo and we are on our own turns...  I didn't know cycling aroung my estate was so much fun!  Am sure going another ride this weekend.  :)

It's teeee-geee-ayeee-efffff! eeeee-yeeee-eeeehhh!  :)

我们的小旋风!

28 September 2011

... vroom vroom VROOM!!!  ++HONK HONK++

Suppose to collect the e-bicycle on coming Saturday but we did it during lunch yesterday!  So impromptu!!!  It was a long drive to Toh Guan Road East....  The manager Royston (I think he is the boss) was helpful and friendly.  He personally went through on how to operate this heavy e-bicycle and highlighted the 4 locking system as it special features... safety rules like riding on the side of the road with helmet... blah blah and blah... (imagine he has to go thru 24x times of briefing!)  There were four colors - Orange, Black, Grey and Silver and I am spoilt for choices!

Ben and Ryanm came along and test-ride the e-bicycle... the pick up rate was turbo fast.  I was warned but FWAH, the rate that picked me up was terrifiying.  My heart beat still pumping super fast... feels like a gush of invisible 气 to FLY!  There were alot of heavy vehicle passing by so I didn't really test out the ride but we can see that Ben enjoyed himself during the test-ride.

I bought a helmet (not so cool looking...  Ryanm suggested I get a full-face helmet - the 天诺有情 wannabe!) and still super buay zai becasue this e-bicycle is blardly heavy!  Battery pack alone weighed 20KG.  Maintaining e-bicycle wasn't an easy job... looks like they have to be sent in for servicing every 6months-9months... the annual overhaul cost about S$200!  Charging of the battery is required at least once a month even if we don't ride it.

It was super tempting to 'upgrade' 小旋风 with a top-up of S$800 to a Tornado Light (super sleek - in white!).  ah Thiang and I loved it the moment we stepped into the store for redeemption!  It was beautifully mounted on the window dispay.  We held back the impulsiveness for upgrade and went back with our 小旋风...  :)

小旋风 is temporarily parked in the living hall because I wasn't home on time last evening to brief my papa on 'How to Operate" and set the alarms so that we can park her outside our home...  By this morning, I am infused with the new home frangrance 小旋风's tyre smell!  Muahahahaha~

25 September 2011

Sim Cik invited us to attend Bishan CC YEC 9th Biennial General Meeting 2011 held at K-Box Orchard Cineleisure yesterday.  There were games and food served during this 3hr event - I won myself a S$10 Captialand Voucher for answering the correct name and singer of the song!

In short, ah Thiang was nominated as part of the committee and together with Sim Cik, he will serve his term for two years before the next Biennial General Meeting in 2013.  After the first official meeting on 14 October, ah Thiang will be officially a grassroots leader!  ++WEEE!++

I WANT TO GO HOME!

23 September 2011

Horrendous night spent at the JKT Airport!

I encountered a werid night in my room yesterday on the very last night of my JKT stay... while I was still working and watching the TV, the aircon suddenly started blowing (when it was supposed to be off ) and the TV was auto off!  I called the reception and was asked to try re-slotting in the room card... and it worked.  Everything was in order... then another 5-10mins later, it happened again... I tried the second time then shortly my phone in the room rang... when I was about to pick it up, it hung up.  HOW?  So WERID!

I try not to think so negative... and decided to go bed... and while I am getting ready to sleep the TV went off again (this time the aircon was still OFF)!  WARAO eh!!!  I called the airline and asked if there are any seats on the next available flight but it was already 12am and airport counter and airline office were closed and only way to check the available seats are to be done at the airport personally.  I checked online and the earliest flight was 5.50am and I proceed to check out the hotel!  It was about 12.30am when I checked out of the hotel...

The moment I reached airport, I regretted my hrash decision... the airport was closed!  It wasn't like how Singapore operated their 24h airport.  It was a pitch dark walkway with people sleeping on the benches (with and without luaggages...).  "Is this place safe...?"  I asked myself.  The airport in JKT is closed for operation from 12am-3.30am as their earliest flight is 5.05am therefore nobody will be working!  Even those traveller on transit will be asked to leave the airport and wait outside!  ++DAMN++

I couldn't place myself with those people sleeping on benches... and I strolled up and down outside the airport... then suddenly I saw an ang mo lady reading her books in this coffeeshop...  I decided it was OK to sit with them while waiting for the gate to be opened.  This Indo-chinese guy seated behind me kept chatting with me...  I worried that he might be a professional cheater (he told me his domestic flight was delayed for 3hrs and he was in the airport since 8am till now - you believe anot?) and I am so sleepy and tired but still entertained him for awhile before I popped my iPod into my ears and ignore him...  I couldn't sleep and dare not to sleep... so worried that I will be robbed blah blah blah...

By 3.20am, the departure gate opened...  I quickly Q-ed to get in and so worried that I might not be granted in due to my flight is about 14hrs before departure time!  Luckily the guard let me in and I RAN to SQ counter to have my flight changed to 5.50am.  FWAH, I couldn't be more thankful than anything else... after I got my amended flight ticket I went straight to the immigration counter to check in.  I felt so safe after I had my passport stamped and seated by the boarding gate trying to catch a nap before getting on the flight....

Not to mentioned the horrible services I got from the ol' SQ woman on the flight back, this is the most unbearable moment and darkest night from all my travelling days...

When I related my incident to my friends, some say I was brave... some say I should have change a new room or even bunk in my night with my colleagues/boss (they didn't even know I took the first flight back! shhhhhhhhh~)... erm... I don't know... I couldn't sleep and wanted to go home so badly.  I should have been more 理智 and not rush into such 冲动 decision that might landed myself into such unnecessary trouble in such UNSAFE hazy city!  :(

Singapore traffic, my ah Thiang and my bed... YOU HAVE BEEN MISSED!

SIN/JKT/SIN - Day 4

22 September 2011

Today is the ONLY day I get to see sunset in Jakarta!  Haha... left early with moi boss back hotel to catch up with some work... and tomorrow don't have to go to the exhibition hall... I AM GOING HOME!  YAY!!

This morning I almost freaked out when I looked myself in the mirror - BRUISED from the rub last night!  Red marks on my arms... I can even see the tee-shirt sleeve marks on the left of my arm!  Guanyin-ma, what did the masseuse do to me last night?  Still feeling sore on my arms... now... am having second thoughts on going back for foot massage, maybe I will just meet Bilal and KH for dinner after their 2-hr massage... heh!!!

SIN/JKT/SIN - Day 3

21 September 2011

Electric, Power & Renewable Energy 2011

YAY!  First day of show and we have collected over 90 sales contacts from the "Win a iPod Nano" campaign.

Pak Wiyono (that's him in the picture standing outside the restro) brought us out for lunch which is about 45mins drive + jam and for once I had the so-called authentic Nasi Langgi Kuning.  Nice.  I also bought some local snacks like peanuts, and beef floss from the restro.

Me and Kai Hua finally found foot massage place that is located basement 2 (what I called it - below their underground level) cost Rp.50,000 for good ol' 60mins... and tomorrow we are coming back again!  It was very late when we are done with our massage and all shops and restaurants were closed.  We had no choice but to dine in at the hotel restaurant - by the pool side... food sucks.  It was the same menu as what I found in the room... bleh~

Today lunched at 3.30pm and dinner ended about 12mid-night... I am confused which time zone exactly I was now...  :(

SIN/JKT/SIN - Day 2

20 September 2011

Localized local delights!

Yesterday I was complaining that I am unable to get any 'local' food for my meals... and today, I managed to taste their very own localized food locally!

Guess what.  The KFC I had in Bali was the standard combo I had in SG... and here, we have rice to replace the burger!  ONLY rice and a drumstick in that combo box.  Not sure where my colesaw and wipped potato gone to... and that's for my lunch.  I have been starved to hell!  :(

After completing the setup of booth, it was already 7+pm (SIN time) I am so so so exhausted and plus our dear Alex is nowhere familiar with the places around our hotel.  So no massage and local food (wonder does he only goes office and back home then office then home... then office then home?)

The car passby a padang store just very nearby our hotel (about 50m by foot) and we just setttled this for our dinner tonight.  WOW.  I loved their ox-tail soup and I had TWO servings... soup = comfort food... yums!!!  I thought local food will mean ayam penent and tauhu telor but no, this is like our 杂菜饭 ~ the high class version... like The Rice Table - they serve you many small dishes, eat all you can and pay only one price... but here, you were displayed with many plates of small dishes, and you pay if you 'touched' or eat them.  Those not consumed at the end of the meal, will not be charged but put back to the heaps of displays at the counter for the next customer.  OK.  I only go to The Rice Table... not local padang store anymore.

Despite there isn't any fancy malls (the faceshop mask here sells like S$6.80/pc when I can get them at JB for S$2.80/pc! wtf.) and massage that we can visit, the hotel I am staying serves very nice morning breakfast - such a consolation!  This is very different from the rest of the hotels I have stayed for the past travellings... and just by looking at the in-room dining menu, I am so eager to try their ox-tail soup, gado gado tomorrow!  I should have flipped the in-room menu yesterday...  ++yum yum++  :))

SIN/JKT/SIN - Day 1

19 September 2011

Bengawan Solo.... la la la la la lahhh....

Yesh.  I am in Jakarta, Indonesia.  First time here.  Vividly remembered around the same month last year, I was in Kuta, Bali for a launch too... time flies...  Today, friendly Henry T picked me up from the airport>hotel>JIE Kemayoran and before he left, we had a chat to catch up what has happened after I left them...  I HAVE BEEN MISSED!  ++Haha++

Electric, Power and Renewable Energy 2011 seems a very HEAVY-duty industry and I see many many HEAVY machinery everywhere... they were HUGE... seriously HUGE!  The exhibition hall itself was SO MUCH dusty-er and hazy-er from the rest of my set ups in various countries.  ++FWAH++  I was made to wear a mask and my eyes wasn't spared from the dusty environment - 'she' was tear-ing away...  ++singing away: smoke gets into "your" eyes...++

I was craving for tauhu telor... ayam penent... I couldn't find any authentic Indonesian restaurant at the mall beside my hotel and settled for some lasi lemak at some Hainanese Kopitiam.  ++D A N G!!!++  Tomorrow when moi boss is here, I will make him bring me go ease my cravings!!!  :)

Day 1 in peektures: Loved the FREE mobile phones charging station @ T2 - now I can have my phone 100% fully charged before I board the plane! YAY!!

Yummilicious Curry Fish Head in JB!

17 September 2011

Curry fish head at Kam Leong Restaurant

ah Thiang and I had an annual eye review with Optimax in the morning and after our appointment we had lunch at the 老皅噻的 curry fish head!  We always have curry fish head when we go to JB and after lunch we will shop and do massage in City Square.  This is our SOP!  ++HAHA++

There is no other restaurant that has such long queue for food and totally can't miss it even though the restaurant signboard cannot be easily seen while driving... it is just a drive down from the beginning of Jalan Wong Ah Fook at the first traffic light.  The queue start as early as 11am and they will close for the day once they sold out their fish heads - usually by about 2pm.

"Do they sell other dishes beside curry fish head?"  NO.  They only serve curry fish head... nothing else was on their menu.  It was always the Chinese auntie who will cook the curry and the towkay son or the aunties who shouted "sao-sao... sao-sao" (means, caution... hot hot!) to serve the customers but now the Chinese auntie is no longer around, it was the towkay son who will does the cooking.  ++Promising young man heh++

Usually a meal of 3 will only cost about RM39 (including drinks) - food to die for!  ++SLURPED++

WON a Tornado 16series E-Bicycle!!!

16 September 2011

The Hossan Leong Show returns!  Attended the 1st and 2nd eposide from the last 2years and how can we missed the 3rd eposide running?  As expected, we ended the night with so much laughs!!!

Highlights of the show:

All the drama of the General Election 2011 but with more tongues in cheeks and fewer tears on faces!  Judee Tan's commanding performance as a certain youngest Member of Parliament whose association with Kate Spade bags happens to be bigger than her political vocation, was hilariously spot on.  Perfectly executed, even right down to the posture, Judee delivered an uproarious punch with her parody of the infamous "Meet the People Session".

One of the show's biggest laughs came from Chua Enlai and Judee Tan's side-splitting moments as the Western paranormal doctor and traditional Chinese physician respectively, both characters, a reprisal from last year's episode two.  Returning this time as television hosts of a new program, they "travel many worlds - both the humanly world and the supernatural world" to exorcise ghosts.  The over-stayed, Mdm Bibik Lim, made a guest appearance - as a ghost -in the Supernatural World segment.

A new game show segments that we can all relate to like “So you think you can ... Tahan?” - I participated furiously and guessed what...  I WON A TORNADO 16SERIES ELECTRICAL BICYCLE!!!  I was screaming like mad when they announced my seat number!  ++YEAH YEAH YEAH++

Confirm!  Double confirm!!  Tripple confirm!!!

After the show, I even tweeted about my winnings.  What surprised me was, Hossan Leong replied my tweet and Mr Miyaki RT my tweet too!  This is SO much fun!!!

I ended my night very late... in fact, 2+am in the morning!  My aunt and I rushed home after the show to send my parents off to their 10D Tibet tour.  Had supper at T3 and maybe I got too excited and only managed to doze off at wee hours.  :P

Show you my new toy!  Oh boy, I have been wanting to buy a bicycle... now I WON an electrical bicycle!  ++COOL huh!++
+++I only can collect my e-bicycle 3~4weeks from now+++

家好月圆庆中秋

12 September 2011

中秋节快乐!

Last Friday we had an advance birthday celebration for Benny and mooncake feasting at his pad... he was so touched and thought the big box I brought was a gigantic mooncake!

While we were enjoying the cakes and mooncakes, we accidently tuned into a variety channel where Korean stars and some representatives from ASEAN making their way through obstacles during the games.  We were enjoyed snarr-ing at the constants in the show and laughed our hearts out.  Bet we were the noisest neighbours in the neighbourhood!  ++LOL++

Me and ah Thiang 一同去提灯笼 at an open field at Sengkang Park, opposite Sengkang Swimming Complex and had a 孔明灯大会 (competiting with the crowd at the other end of the park flying 孔明灯 too)!  We jio-ed Enda who brought her hyperactive nieces along and they had so much fun playing with the sparkles!

ah Thiang never fail to bring me "sparkling moments" in every special occassion like this...  :) / testing market by wearing Giselle's Closet yet to launch blouse!

Oh... we received a text SMS from Joe that XinYan gave birthday to a baby girl today!  What a special and joyous day to celebrate this Mid-autumn Festival!  We, together with HXDA will be visiting XinYan and Joe at TMC tomorrow to send our warm wishes to their new member in the Ho family.  ++mind as well name their baby girl - Chang'e!  HAHA++  :))

H&M is HERE in Singapore!

07 September 2011

Hurrah!  After being bypassed for Hong Kong and Shanghai, H&M has finally opened it's store in Singapore - located at Orchard Building!

I did not want to join the long Q at the launch opening on 3 September but I didn't expect that ah Thiang will jio me go down the store yesterday.  I was totally not prepared for it... after a long day at the in-house roadshow and me wearing in heels and carrying a clutch bag to join the Q... totally not a shopping mood to be.

But nevertheless, we managed to get into the store approx 10mins waiting time... (well, nothing compared to those who have Q-ed hours just to get in on the first day) and the store was in such a mess!  Nothing caught my eyes so I gradually moved up to 2nd and then 3rd floor (to join the guys who are shopping on 3rd floor - mens department).  Clothes priced at Cotton-On range and I still think quality from Zara and Mng can beat them anytime.

Q-ing at the fitting room takes more than 30mins just to try 6 shirts and by the end of the store visit, I don't feel my legs anymore...  ++BOOOOOO!++  ah Thiang bought two shirts and he is so proud that he is a H&M M size wearer... and I walked out of the store empty-handed!  ++Believe or not!?!?  TSK!++

That's Benny in the picture trying out the glasses in a LONG Q waiting to try out his pants and tees...
+++Big boys extremely excited with their purchases!+++
