Mambo, Mambo-ing, Mamboz!

29 December 2011

One, two three four five...  Everybardy it's the mambo night!  Yeo's bluff-ed me that Yesterday was the last Mambo... and in actual fact, it was the last Mambo of the Year not forever lah!  ++Tiew!++  Can you believe it... this was my FIRST MAMBO!  Erm... maybe second time to Velvet Underground (was there once for a Reseller Night) and that's about it.  ++So mountain tortotise...  >_<++

I met the gang at Zouk directly because I had RSVP-ed to attending my Secondary School Reunion along Bussorah Street (not much hoooha... but just catching up with old faces, chit chatting and cam-whoring!  The Chinese guys were such hum-chee, on FB wall mouth talk only, PUI... in the end non of them turn up and it's like a Muslim community gathering!  Only Chinese turn-ups were Me, Jade, Hui and Juay.  LOL!  We left the place about 9-ish.)

FWAH.  It was close to 10pm when I reached Zouk and no joke, the queue was freaking looooooooooong (all the way right to the inside-est carpark)...  The trios already have their hands chopped and even went for their dinner before I got there.  Luckily me have CitiBank CC, and it was the Ladies Night and there was a special queue there hence it doesn't take me more than 5mins to get it.

The DJ was such a disappointment.  We weren't mambo-ing until 12midnight.  GOSH.  I am so blardly tried after standing there for hours without seats and listening to non-mambo songs, really feel like throwing down the glasses of wines at him.  My poor legs almost broke, you know!  But we had fun screaming and enjoying 'live performances' from those chaps on the dance floor, expressing each and every hand gesture movements along with the song lyrics (btw, this happened only after 12midnight).  This is amazing.  Each. And. Every. Word. Ok.  They all have many patterns one... LOL!

After mamboz, we left for supper - ah Hua Bak Kut Teh.  Woo-ishy nice.  Hot soup to end a cold cold and tiring night.  Me concused at 3.30am and with less than 4hours of sleep, I am off to work.  ++KUDOS to myself++  Me super stonned now, trying to refrain myself from walking too much... hope to catch some beauty sleep at facial time.  ++ZZZZZZZZZZzzzz++

H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y P O P A!!!

27 December 2011

阿爸,生日快乐!

Celebrated Popa's Birthday at The Buffet, M Hotel...  It was such a good weather for steamboat together with my loved ones!  The Tom Yam, Laska and Superior Stock soup was superb (Moma enjoyed her Laska pot, keep giving praises to it... nice nice!).  They too, have wide selection of desserts to choose from...  Popa doesn't like cake so we make do without one this year and ended the night with a toast (complimentary from aunt Joyce's voucher... heh)!

We LOVE you Daddy and we know that you know too!
Muacks!!

HXDA Christmas Gathering!

26 December 2011

Ding dong ding dong!  It's once a year HXDA Christmas gathering gift exchange!  Dinner was at Buffet Town located basement 1, Raffles City Shopping Centre.  Guess what, Thomas also had his first round of gift exchange luncheon there too!

Thanks to the co-founder again, we never fail to have different games during gift exchange.  This year, we had 中级密码 and this little device will give you a SHOCK if you kena the correct number!  But the most classic stuff about this exchange was... the 43man will always bear that tag <do not take Nigel's pressie!!!> and for the ONE who gotten his pressie will have a curse for the rest of the year.... (because we will all NAG about it WHOLE year!)

In 2009, the 43man gift-wrapped a piggy bank stuffed with $10 worth of 1cents coins and moving on to 2010, he never learnt his lesson and gotten series of 武林密集 notebooks.  Unfortunately, this spell was casted onto Munic... he was swearing it for the consecutive two years!  Since then, the items that 43man gift were already listed in the banned items.  ++KUDOS to 43man!++

This year, his pressie consisted of 3 CDs of CT girls CNY collection and some mahjong card games... FWAH... this spell has now passed on to Helena... she's such a kind soul and knowning that the pressie was from 43man, she also did not insist in re-exchange with others (there are more PK games to play in order NOT to re-exchange lousy pressies!)...  and best part of this gift exchange was, her expression when opening the pressie... P R I C E L E S S !  ++LOL++

SIN/BKK/SIN - Day 6 & 7

25 December 2011

Merry Christmas from Bangkok!  Ho ho ho!

We spent the rest of our days in Bangkok exploring the new mall, Terminal 21... and celebrated our Christmas Eve dinner at the mall!

Named for its' resemblance to an airport terminal and its' location at Sukhumvit 21, Terminal 21 is located next to the busy Asoke BTS... about 10mins stroll from our hotel!  Each floor of this mall has different theme based on various cities around the world, so its' like travelling to a new cities when you hit each floor.  We were gaga-ing over the in-mall decorations and camera went snaping non-stop!

Here we have the Caribbean theme, Rome and Paris, San Francisco, Istanbul City, London, Tokyo and even Hollywood!

Our Christmas Eve dinner at Moom-Muum Park Restaurant / Pizza, Pama ham & cheese, Salad and cocktails / Festive decorations at the mall / Went for massage at Goldne Lotus > the masseuse was GREAT (will go back next trip)! / Our in-room entertainment and tibits for the night!

The gift of love.  The gift of peace.  The gift of happiness.
May all these be yours, yours and YOURS at Christmas!

ah Thiang and I sending Christmas wishes with lots of love from the Land of Smiles.
Merry Christmas!

Final Selection of Bridal Day Gowns and Evening Gowns!

18 December 2011

Too much wedding celebrations and errands running the whole of December and in less than 7 days and it is CHRISTMAS!

This year's Christmas going to be very special because I will be in Bangkok for work (not sad not sad... imma not feeling sad...) and ah Thiang will be celebrating Christmas with me in Bangkok too!  And in the foreign land, we have the "just married" couple spending their honeymoon in Bangkok as well (this is confirmed not pre-arranged!!! I only know they will be there the same week as us) and so 巧, we have the same flight back to SG on 25 December (not sure of their flight back to SG)!  We shall arrange a good date to meet up to celebrate Christmas in the land of smiles.  :))

For now, updating pictorial of Today's gowns selection before I am off to the land of smiles - I have yet less than 4hours of sleep before I need to be at the airport and thank god, this is the last biz trip before we close the year 2011!

I thanked the Yeo's and Jade for spending time with us at the bridal shop... (this round took us another 5hours of searching for the ONE Day Gown, Evening Gown, Tea Dress and ROM Dress)!  All are brand new new NEW... therefore I can only snap them when I am un-noticed.  We also collected the edited 20% pre-wedding photos today... planning to have our pre-wedding photos printed onto the stamps when sending the invites out to our guests...  Imma going to check out how does the SingPost wedding stamps work before we sending in our photos for massive stamps-production!  Hopefully it is not too expensive.  :)

My Day & Evening Gowns on the RIGHT of the racks! > ROM Dress > Tea Dress > Freesia hand bouquet - simple and elegant to match my Vera Wang-wanabe gown!

Vivian & Shane's Wedding Celebrations!

10 December 2011

Our 12hours of fun!

Celebrating this joyous occassion with the Sapura Team again!

Vivian & Shane invited almost the whole company for their wedding celebrations at Grand Straits Garden, JB.  They even booked two busses to ferry Singapore guest over for the celebrations.  We had our very own driver – Edna, and we arranged to meet up hours before the dinner starts.  This included a drive to Johor Premium Outlets, having a very late lunch at Taang Shifu and shopping!

After getting our loots (I bought mainly infant’s attires… for Luther’s girl and Gloira’s boy), we headed down to the restaurant… missed two exits and we finally reach the destination.  Everyone had fun and drinking with the groom… there is an Eclipse on that evening!

We ended the night with a late-night massage… Benny & I went for foot massage and Edna & ah Thiang went for full body massage…  This is what I called shiok-ness!

In less than 12hours, we will be running our own wedding errands!  HAPPY HAPPY weekend!  :))

Imma behind the wheels!

9 December 2011

Some random photos showing off me behind the wheels (secretly) while my SengSeng-O is away holiday-ing with his GF in HK/China/Macau!  I heard they went for this trip to support his friend who plans to propose to the GF de wor!  And this reminded me of how ah Thiang had his first trial of proposal when we were holiday-ing in Bangkok 2years back.  Whoooooot!

This week is me eating dinner with my family week and I can see that my tum tum area is growing extra "ba" oready.  :((  My ah Thiang on reserbist WHOLE week (ok, not whole but most of the days in the week)! :(

Crab fiesta with Moma & Popa / Dinner at my favorite western stall at Old Kallang Airport Road Hawaker > ah Gong had the same crave as moi > both of us having Yummy pork chops! / Getting ready to bling my toes this Xmas!

Tonight is Munic's bachelor night... and no luck still, Imma not invited to his party.  ++BOO!++  But, Imm has a separate date with 王大叔 and Julie tonight > catching up the old gossips!  Tomorrow, we are heading to JB to attend Vivian and Shane's wedding celebration!  ++Yummmmmmmm yum yum yummmmm SENG!++

环岛吃吃吃!

4 December 2011

All about food, food and food this weekend!

Invited to Nicolas house-warming at his new pat – Shunfu Road… our ‘dinner’ was cooked by GFs of his buddies… nice pasta, chicken wings and salad!  Love his lady Gaga art on his chalkboard wall.  After the “Sapura Gathering”, it’s our usual movie weekend with the Yeo’s and at 2am, we had Nasi Lemak for supper!  I must say, I am “sleep-eating”!  But luckily I had some food before going home as my tum tum was already growling when the plate of goodness was served on my table.

Attended 好兄弟大会… Munic chair-ed this meeting to discuss the duties and scopes of the brothers on his actual wedding day.  We were treated some nice dinner at Dome @ Bishan CC (ahem… I contributed part of the dinner with my discount card...).  I ordered the Xmas set – Apple Braised Pork Neck Tortilla and it comes with a slice of Xmas log cake!  Really Yums!

ah Thiang bought a 2nd hand Tonika 11-16mm lens and the deal is to be collected at Prince Edward Park.  After he collected his lens, we met the Yeo’s at Taka for the additional 10% sale… finally bought my Chole perfume!!!  ah Thiang paid for my purchase as my Xmas pressies!  YAY!

We had udon for brunch, taco pachi for snacks and makan didn’t stop here…  We went Funan to get filter for his new lens... then my crave for strawberry ice-cream made us detour all the way back from Funan to Bukit Timah – Island Creamery!  I suggested to have Nasi Lemak after ice-cream session but suddenly craved for frog porridge… so we drove all the way back to Serangoon for the pots of goodness!  (the drive from Bukit Timah to Serangoon wasn’t that bad lah….).  满足 for all my cravings!!!

FWAH... my weekend full of makan-ess!  Blissed.  :))

Eggcitement Moments at our Wedding Photography Selection

2 December 2011

December is the month where REAL wedding preparation begins...  We will start to make appointments and meet our hotel coordinator for the banquet arrangements, another round of actual-wedding day gowns selections, then fittings... bridal trial make-up... WHOOT WHOOT!!!

Selection of wedding peektures is a very nervous, an eggciting and very painful process.  You must possess the following criteria when you are going through this process:

> your bank’s health condition
> you must not have a weak heart
> be firm
> must be able to resist all sort of temptations
> be very negotiable!!!!

We are so eggcited to start deciding on the photos for our wedding album... now on the selection part... this will be hard... VERY!

First, you feel very nervous whether or not your photos will turn out nice… what if it is no nice… (and I heard there are cases like bridal shop’s HDD crashed and all photos are GONE, and you are only left with weeks to your BIG day… then siao liao lor…!).

Secondly, very eggciting because you get bery HIGH seeing all the beautifuuuuul photos lying all over the table to choose… and trust me, you will want each and every one of them into your album.

Lastly… feeling torturous and painful, because on one hand you want to keep to your budget and save money… another hand, you cannot resist the temptation of not getting the beautifuuuuuul photos into your album.

After all the haggling of prices to pay for the OVER-numbered photos from the selection, you will pay the price for it.  Something we learnt from Yesterday’s selection, everything also no need money to pay… because you have the ‘bird bird card’… their ‘bird bird card’ aka Visa card!  ++trolled face++  And finally, after your ‘bird bird card’ has been swiped thru the little card slider… and I tell you, this is PAINFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUL… especially when you signing on the dotted line… I feel ah Thiang... eventhough I am not the one signing on the dotted line.  :P

> 1st round (2 batches > indoor and outdoor): 150+ photos
> Eliminated about half of the stack of photos > cost as at 1st round, S$4000+ (wft)
> 2nd round: managed to take out few more ‘sets’ but it kinda affect the ‘flow’ of the album > cost as at 2nd round, S$2700+
> Show hand: traded in our mini-album and a 8R table top photoframe… and minus a few pieces then plus sneak back 1-2pieces into the set to make it more complete > final price S$2088 = total 57pieces w/raw & edited images of selected photos in CD + actual selected sample photos

… and taaaaadaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!  Our peektures after the battle which lasted for nearly 3.5hrs!

Initial layout will only be ready 1st week February 2012...   Imma can't wait... Imma can't wait!

An eggciting December awaits!!!
