Happy Leap Year Everybardy!

29 February 2016

Happy Leap Year everybardy - a year, occurring once every four years, which has 366 days including 29 February as an intercalary day!  (copy and paste from Wiki... :P)

Actually today's post is about our long-overdue Chinese New Year celebrations because 我们家宝贝 is unwell; down with cough, flu, on & off fever... so we didn't realllllly into the mood for CNY.  Ok, so started antibiotics last week and now he no longer having fever ups and downs, just occasionally few coughs during sleep and yes, that's about it.  He's on his road to recovery!  YAY!

Some snippets of our 猴-some New Year;

Simple deco for our hall - last minute bought some 梅花, coaster from Ikea,  Naraya 福 container from last BKK trip and 元宝年糕 from NTUC, edit with some CNY greetings and tadaaaaa... posted on my IG.  Hehe!  Not too bad right?

猴年初一;Mr Tan, Mrs Tan and Junior Tan 全家去拜年咯!(See, the son still not into the mood yet... 无精打采的... )  So heart pain to see him like this and being cranky...

猴年初二;Monkey-ing around with my boys!

You can see how many times I made him wear his 工夫 shirt during this CNY - $69 leh, better wear until 够本!

"This is how I wear rickshaw puller attire with style"

Morning's situation with my curly fries when we send him back to school after a long break from CNY (+ MCs) holidays!

Growing up with Nathaniel; Week107-110

12 February 2016

Week 110!

My poor boy hasn't been feeling well for the past two weeks (since 28 January with fever on and off).  First the school started to reporting HFMD cases via emails, then following Saturday he was down with an intermittent fever from his afternoon nap and was OK after two doses of Paracetamol and started coughing since...

The following week, school called me and told me they suspected him of contracting HFMD - white spots found in his mouth and red spots within his palms.  I quickly informed the family and brought him home and visited the nearest GP.  Well, I should have brought him to PD instead as the GP also wasn't sure if he had HFMD as this was the early stage but was "quarantine" to be home to monitor his progression of the development of the ulcers and rashes.  We are required to get a letter of fitness to prove he is well enough to go back to school.  GP only detected two ulcers under the tongue and minor red spots on his palm and there is no new development since then... so we brought him out for CNY celebrations.

However, his running nose and cough did not get better and he was coughing badly until he has to vomit out the phlegm to feel better (which he don't know how to vomit yet...).  We Q-ed at the PD for nearly two good hours.  I can see he's being very patience in waiting to see the PD but his energy level is high enough that he doesn't look like any sick patient in the clinic.  PD gave him a simple procedure in sucking out the phlegm in the nose and gave higher dosage of medicine.  We decided to mix it with his milk so we all will not struggle to fight with him on having his medicine via oral springe.  (why didn't we agreed on this method long time agoooo...?)

I hope he's feeling much better and can go back to school next week - and will not have school withdrawal symptom in case he thinks we gonna abandoned him in school once he recovers from his sickness.

Note to Son;

Mama wishes you speedy recovery so we can go swimming and go indoor playgrounds!
