祝我生日快乐!

30 June 2012

Just celebrated my 21st birthday (pssssst, not revealing how old I am... bleh!) with my husband, my family and my BFFs.  :P  Still counting on my blessings... feel so loved.  ah Thiang remembered what I told him last year...  I wanted a cupcake for my birthday and he did!  He gave me a JUMBO huge cupcake for my birthday.  #LOVELOVELOVED!

Celebration started off with a simple dinner on Wednesday at Pique Nique then met my aunt for drinks at Bar on 5 @ Mandarin Orchard.  Drinks until 2am and only tucked in bed at 3am.  So lacking of sleep... no energy wake up for breakkie lo!  #BOO  Luckily ah Thiang and I took leave, if not sure hangover.  On actual birth day, we had mom-inlaw's 鸡蛋面线 for lunch (this year no have moma's 猪肝面线... :( ).  After lunch, we went down town for tea & cupcakes at The Marmalade Pantry.  I loved their chocolate peanut butter cupcake (guessed what, ah Thiang's JUMBO huge cupcake was also peanut butter... banana peanut butter! Best-ed combination liao!!!).  Supposed to go some korean BBQ dinner, Sarang at OC with my fam fam... but we end up having zhi char along Tg Pagar... not too bad and desserts at the nearby desserts store along the street to end the night.  Shop owners even took a polaroid for my keepsake!  :)

Love made by ah Thiang / All dressed up for my birthday celebrations! / Dinner at Pique Nique > Their Tokyo Connection burger was good! / At Bar on 5 / Tea & Cupcakes at The Marmalade Pantry / With my fam fam!

ah Thiang planned a surprised dinner with my BFFs... and it turned out not really a surprise as I happen to catch the glimpse of Jade's watsapp message to ah Thiang asking if the dinner is confirmed... venue... blah blah... so when I have to pass the phone to ah Thiang and pretended I'm unaware about it.  Two times.  #plamface  LOL!  Ok okay, I acknowledged his efforts > he secretly went to order a JUMBO huge cupcake (not cheap hor... at least 1kg! haven't ask where is the cupcake shop... ask why so expensive!), arranged for this dinner and even branja the meal.  No words can describe how I am feelin now...  I loved this man so much!

Thank you ah Thiang.  Thank you all my loved ones!  #imthankful

Summer lov'in > so bright so sunny! / Surprised dinner at Gurney Drive @ Suntec / Penang Hawaker Street feasting! / MY JUMBO HUGE CUPCAKE! AWESOME!!!

TGIF at Applebee's & Fish Spa!

24 June 2012

Mrs Yeo was out of town for her buying trip in Bangkok over the weekend and we, (Yeo, Jade, ah Thiang and I) met and pigged out at Applebee's.  Food was meh... it's the company that matters.  :)

After our dinner, we took a walk at Orchard Central (on the way to collect my birthday pack from the mall)... guess what, I was given a complimentary 20mins fish spa and some mall vouchers.  Not knowing where we are heading at 9-ish hour of the evening, we went for fish spa!  0_0"

TGIF dinner at Applebees' / Fish spa at Kenko

Fish spa by the name is leaving our foot in this small tank to feed the small fishes for about 20-30mins.  This is proven to be quite effective at treating flaky and dried skin, leaving only the fresh exfoliated skin beneath.  It was also Yeo's first time (look at how stressed up his expressions were...) and he was feeling ticklish during the whole session!  ++LAUGHs++  Anyways, mine was free but only good for 20mins and the guys paid like $30 for 30mins session.

Pre-Papa's Day Celebration in Bangkok!

18 June 2012

I am back from my 7-days stint in Bangkok, feeling alittle under the weather.  Visited the doctor and from past record, it is about a month ago I last visited her.  ++GAH++  Prescribed me some pills (not as horrified as the previous month because there wasn't any antibotics.  HENG.) and a day MC.  Sleep all I care for today after this post... but still have to clear some emails before I can steal time for my nap.  ++weatherissoblardyhot++

Pre-celebrated Papa's Day on Day 6 in Bangkok.  Brought the folks to Platinum Mall then Central World, some kopi-time together and then Siam Paragon... long day of walking (Moma went back hotel with lotsa loots!)... it was pouring in the evening and we were stucked at Terminal 21.  So, no massage hence we went for an early dinner at Tony Roma's.  Popa loves western food like pork ribs and steaks, so this is the best place for Papa's Day celebration!

Back to the hotel early and pack my bag for my next day flight... and when the rain has stopped, we headed out to the night markets along Soi Nana.  Disappointing.  I would strongly recommend shopping at the night market opposite Siam Paragon instead.  More stuffs, seriously.  MORE.

After my departure, the folks were on their own exploring Bangkok (heard they went back Platinum Mall for more shopping!) and going for their 4-days tour in Chiang Mai (it's today!!!)!  Left behind my beloved camera for them, and hope they will snap some nice shots during their tour.  :)

Back to the kopishop (along the soi outside First House Hotel, we stayed 4 years back...) for their pig intestine and wanton mee.  POWER! / Us at Tony Roma's!

SIN/BKK/SIN - Day 4

14 June 2012

My stint in Bangkok continues... am extending for another three nights to shop and eat my way in Bangkok (btw of this post, I declared broke...) >>> left with only 500bhat for the rest of the week.  +++gasps+++

Very impressed with the services that Grande Centre Point Sukhumvit Terminal 21 showered me.  When I needed to call a taxi and showed them the addresses of my next hotel, they insisted to send me over by foot.  Yes.  It is that near.  So, walk over.  I kinda refused because the luggage is already 17kg when I checked-in my flight and now it could be heavier.  Reason being, taking a taxi from the hotel to the next hotel will be super jam and it will take long time.  So they offered to carry my luggage and ascorted me to my next hotel by foot under the hot sun.  (OK, I am not complaining the hot sun and that's part of the reason I don't wanna walk to the next hotel+++THUMBSUP for their service anyway!+++

Citypoint Hotel is the next hotel I will stay till Sunday.  It is a modern and chic hotel, nothing here looked 'budgeted' even though the room rates are almost half-price than the previous one I stayed... the lift buttons are touch-sensors!  High-tech anot (four-five stars hotel doesn't even have that)!?!

Settled for Korean BBQ for lunch and off I went for my me-time in Bangkok! Whoot!  So dead tired, walk die me ah... and gonna tuck into bed NOW.  Tomorrow will be a rest & relac day... cafe hoping I hoped (remember, I only left with 500bhat?) until my Popa & Moma arrive!  +++YAY+++

SIN/BKK/SIN - Day 1

11 June 2012

Sawasdeekaaaaaaaa!

Day 1 (... and Day 2) in Bangkok, setting up for this week's show, Propak Asia 2012 and leaving the next disaster (next show setup which is next Monday) for my local guy, Tham to handle!  ++evil++  Ok lah, my interim boss says Tham is clever and smart and he can do the job... bascially save cost.  So.  OK loh, no need get involved in setup... it's more siong than Today's anyway.  :P

About my accommodation.  No more Pathumwan Princess Hotel but hey, it's Grande Centre Point Sukhumvit - Terminal 21!  Love the location of the hotel... so so so much nearer to BITEC which means lesser jam-ming time, earlier dinner time for me, more food places but less shopping.  Shops here ain't attractive = not cheap as compared in MBK.  But I am happy.  Yes, back to Terminal 21 Mall = more food, desserts and cafes hoping!  ... and I found new massage places nearby the 'back' of the mall, so gonna try them TOMORROW!

Two more days before my weekend hiatus in the Land of Smiles!  Yippeeeeeeeeee.

Grand lobby / Spacious room / I lurve their auto-heated toilet seat! / AWESOME-est pool-view from my room!!! / Thai delights for lunch / MK - steamfulilious dinner on a rainy evening!

More of Us on Her World Brides' Wedding Albums June 2012!

08 June 2012

Snippets of the Her World Brides' Wedding Albums in June 2012 issue!

Our wedding story:
It started with a handbag I have been eyeing on and gotten a ride from ah Thiang to go buy that bag.  Unfortunately, the bag wasn't available anymore.  ah Thiang kindly offered to send me to other outlets over the next few days.  "This" led to alternate weekend lunches, dinners, tea and supper dates!

The fairy-tale ending:
I bagged the man, but darn, I never did get to buy the bag!

About the wedding:
Creativity meets fun through colors, eight wheels and the world's most famous toy bricks at this funky wedding!

OH. Oh. We managed to cut out the pages nicely and scan them into soft-copy into flash drives and also a copy of magazine for keepsake! Thanks to ah Thiang for all the work done all night. Muacks!

Brunch weekend with Love at L'etoile

03 June 2012

It's a weekend date with ah Thiang!  Spending alittle "just the two of us" time over the weekend after returning from my work trip in Jakarta.

Went Francfranc, a newly opened jap-style furniture shop at Vivo City then a brunch date at L'etoile with ah Thiang.  The cafe, located at a quiet corner of Owen Road junction has an old dressing table, sewing machine, old design sofas and chairs and some hand paint drawings on the wall as part of the cafe deco.  Giselle's Closet team joined us shortly after their photoshoot... and this became a brunch date with the gang!  (OK, I am not complaining... the more the merrier, tio bo?)  ++MUAHAHAHA!++

It's GSS!  We spent the rest of the weekend shopping in town... It's dangerous to come to town, there are SALE signs everywhere!  We also went Kinokuniya to buy few copies of Her World Brides' June-September 2012 issues for distribution... becauseeeeee, we are featured in the magazine!  So have to buy a few copies and give to family members for keepsake and also a copy just to cut out the page and scan into our HDD mah!  It's heavy to carry thick magazines like these leh... sam till waiting for SPH to send us the complimentary copy wor...  (A separate post of this shortly!)

SIN/JKT/SIN

31 May 2012

Pagi! (means Morning in Bahasa... b'cos by the time I finished this post, it should be about 2am SG time on 1 June...)

My first work trip of the year > 10th ASEAN Ports & Shipping 2012 Conference and Exhibition!  Also, my second time participating the two-days show... last year the show was held in HCMC at Winsor Plaza Hotel and it travels around the region.  This year, in Jarkata (so I am here for the second time) and see some familiar faces from the past year!  :)  I've got information that next year's show will be in June (my birthday!) back in HCMC.  Booo...!!!

I also met up with Pei Huan (ok, picture too dark to see who that mysterious lady was... too bad!) who happens to travel to Jarkata on the same week as I do.  We had dinner and do 'lil bit of catch up... remember the last time I saw her was at NEX for lunch and that was when I just joined the company... almost a year ago!

Ok need to end the post abruptly b'cos I realized that I only have less than fours hours of sleep before I leave for airport.  Yes.  I am going home later!  Going home for my Moma's soup.  YAY!!!

Lunch with the team / #foreveralone Dinner / Us at the booth / My fozen yogurt fix > tried both Red Mango & Sour Sally. Jessie say 'chip!' > Catching up with an old friend by the beach! (name of the restaurant lah... lol)
