Another food-ing Weekend yet!
23 April 2012
Let me share where I have been pigging out over the last weekend in peektures! Warning: LOADSA PICTURES ahead!
On Friday, 20 April > Went for the S$1.50/plate sushi at Citylink Mall. I learnt that the management only allocate a good ol' 50mins to dine in the restaurant so I stayed in the queue until everyone is here before we get seated. It was a conveyor belt system (like Sake Sushi/Sushi Teh) and we managed to fill our tummies within the time-frame with tableful of sushi coz there wasn't much choices on the belt (same ol' thing), despite each guest is entitled a plate of blueberry cheesecake and tea for FREE! Btw, they didn't even have chawanmushi! #sureitssushishop
Our night didn't end here. The girls wanted to go to Laline, located at Marina Sqaure to do some bodycare shopping. Nothing caught my eye so far and I bought a head massager after Serene strongly recommended when we stood outside the shop waiting for them to get their spree done. We finally ended the night at Loola's (by awfullychocolate) to have some tea while ah Thiang fix the blog site for Jessie. Oh boy, look at the food we ordered > heh, doesn't looked like we had our dinner an hour ago! >_<"

On Saturday, 21 April > We were invited for a Peking Duck feast at Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck Restaurant! This yummy duck MUST be pre-ordered in advance cos the restaurant is FULLY BOOKED EVERYDAY! Thank you Oba for buying us such sumptuous feast! She must have gotten a fat fat bonus. Teehee!
So after the ducky feast, ah Thiang treated us dessert! :) Baby Bro has a movie date to catch so he did not join us... We took a slow walk down to Orchard Central to have ice-cream! Ordered one cuppa of ice-cream each from Cold Stone Creamery. The queue was horrendous. Or maybe it was the staffs trying to perform some tricks throwing the scoop all over the place hence the slowing down to clear the waiting queue. But I think the ice-creams were over-rated. Nevertheless, we had a good time pigging out together like anyother family gatherings!
I was paying my sleeping debt on Sunday! SO nice of ah Thiang to cook me breakfast > bacon, ham, susages, eggs (while I wipped out the eggs and toast the bread...) and went for a 2hour nap right after! Woke up feeling loved with a mini-head massage by ah Thiang! By eveving, we had dinner with the in-laws at the Geylang Famous Beef Kway Teow and end the night with the Battleship movie-date with the Yeos!
That's all for the last weekend... and now charging to another long week ahead! So many errands to run for the upcoming exhibitions... :( ++I'll get stronger!!!++

Lee Cooper Summer Show 2012!
20 April 2012
Few nights ago, we were invited to Lee Cooper Summer Show 2012! It was held in Avalon at Marina Bay Sands. View from Avalon to the Fullerton Bay was awesome. The models at the runway were awesome too (only when they are topless... LOL)!
We got home after supper-ing with the Goh's at about 3am, after helping Jessie's friend, Siling to jump-start her car (she forgot to switch off her headlights and the battery went dead when she trying to start her car). We took Sim Cik's car and drove to nearby petrol station (only managed to get the cable at the second try). So, I think it's a must-haves x100s for all drivers to have a jump-start cable in the car - like taxi uncles, just in case! ++A MUST-HAVES!++
Still feeling super lousy from my lack of sleep eventhough I hit the sack as early as 11odd every night! (or isit still not early enough? wtf.) When can I ever recoup back all my beauty sleep lost from the many awakening nights over the last few weeks? No more late nights on weekdays! BTW... I managed to sneak out a Lee Cooper's cushion from the event... teeeheee! (haha... I know right... last sentence is so "dak" link from the para... because I just wanna show off I has a new cushion... branded somemore...!!!)

Shopping and fooding around in JB!
16 April 2012
Last Saturday was shopping and fooding time with family in JB and I am already starting to collect stamps in my new biometric passport! Invited Jessie along as Yeo was away for some leadership training in London and won't be back till this weekend. He even watsapp-ed us lotsa beautiful photos (where is is staying...) whenever his BB was connected to WIFI!
Back to JB trip... The usual human traffic jam at the bus queue to woodlands checkpoint and woodlands custom was horrendous. SBS buses didn't come as frequent as we expected. We should try out CW1 & CW2 bus services the next time. I must say, their fleat of buses come and go in a blink of light!
We headed straight to Jusco Tebrau for lunch and we had shabu shabu at Arashi! I love their Hokkaido Milk broth... it was YUMMICILIOUS! I am going back for more! ah Thiang manged to "chopp" a massage session at Tebrau (which he never did for the last few times!) while the girls do their shopping. Supermarketing after tea-break at JCO Donut and we taxi back to City Square for second round of shopping before we ended the evening dinner-ing at Nandos. It was really 1-1 pricing compared to SG branches. No wonder Moma and Popa so wanna eat Nandos!

Happy First Month Wedding Anniversary!
12 April 2012
The highest happiness on earth is marriage. Yesh. We are celebrating our First Month Wedding Anniversary of our love and faithfulness together as Mr & Mrs Arthur Tan!
Waited for ah Thiang to knock off from work (he was trying to send an email out to a customer which took him about an hour long...) in Funan... and couldn't decide on where to have this little celebration, he suggested trying out at the restaurant located next to Funan which was operated and managed by students from Shatec (we (all) used to have our social etiquette course here during our school times...) called Recipes A Bistro.
A 3 course fine-dining experience served by OTJ (on job trainees) > overall... not too bad! My beef stew is good and desserts are indeed yummy. Food presentation is superb too! Will definitely come back again to try out their "Dinner on the Dot" promotion from 5.30pm - 9pm >> how it works: order their featured main course of the week and pay at the price accordingly to the time shown on our food order. *note: they do are closed on Sundays.

Easter Weekend!
08 April 2012
Chill out, chill out and chill outs!
Long weekends are really awesome because we wake up thinking that it's Sunday but realized it's a Saturday... and this weekend, me has TWO Saturdays! (waking up on a Friday thinking it's Saturday and waking up on Saturday and thinking it's a Sunday... Muahahahahahahas...)
On Good Friday, we spent the whole day home 'upgrading' the look and feel of Giselle's Closet webpage, had our all day breakfast at Habitat Coffee then chillaxation at Starbucks, Rochester Park. Wooohoo, every Friday should be GOOD FRIDAY!
The whole of Saturday was just me & ah Thiang-time slugging in bed (soooooooo comfy and sluggish especially with the heavy downpour) and we only managed to climb out of bed in the late evening... rush down to ComCentre before they were closed for the day (to get his Apple care for his 4Gs before his vouchers expired!) and stuffed my tum tum with cravings for Quiznos' zesty grilled cheesesteak sub! YUMS.
Easter Sunday! Church service with my Mom-inlaw then Japanese BBQ and coffee with my folks (discussing what's the menu for next week when Imma back for dinner!) >> This is family time! The rest of the Sunday evening was just spending daughter/mom-inlaw time together watching Korean drama while ah Thiang took his extended afternoon nap!

It's Moma's Birthday!
04 April 2012
Happy birthday to my awesomestest Moma! May you always 笑口常开!
Today is 清明节正日 and I took off to pay my respect to my great-grandma/pa. Weather was cooling as it started to rain in the early morning even before I woke up. ++YAWNZzzzz++ After the praying, we head to Bugis Cyrstal Jade Xiao Long Bao La Mian for dim sum lunch! Ooooh, I lurve their pan-fried pancake... it's just like the Chinese-style roti prata and Imma coming back for more! Grandma's appetite was good too... almost everything she ate she said "ho jiak"! LOL
After lunch, Moma went back to get dressed while me and aunt Joyce went to pamper our nails! Finally after a good 3hours, we are done with our nails (already feeling aches from my back after seated on the massage chair from 3-6pm!)... we went to chop seats at Quan Le Yan Seafood (some teochew cusine) for our dearest Moma's Birthday feast!
Didn't take much photos (even I brought my 小白 out...), we are all very hungry and busy feasting and baby bro was on the work phone most of the time so can't get everybody to take a group photo with the feast... BUT. I managed to snap some eating in action!

Bachelorette Party on a Leap Day!
01 March 2012
My awesomestestest girlfriends organized a bachelorette party for me. On a Leap day (Leap day falls on the 29 February...). Memorable! Muacks.
Jade, the mastermind got me the surprise bachelorette props just for the night... together with Jessie, she got me the 'birdy' band she brought from Bangkok (imported stuff, HOKAY!)! We had our 'party' at Dallas Restaurant & Bar at Boat Quay. We simply chat and dinner and chatted and dinner-ed throughout the entire evening and I wasn't even sabotage by the girls! ++PHEW, thank you for sparing me!++
It wasn't the most bomb-blasting bachelorette party that I've come across... but the company was AWWWWWwwwwwwwwesome! I promised to organize a BETTER and memorable-er bachelorette party for Jade when her time comes (I already begged her to let me be her bridesmaids, she said OK, so ok means can has Hen Party!!!)... Muahahahahahaha~~

Wedding Errands Week!
20 February 2012
It's running of wedding errands week!
Food tasting, 过大 礼 and choosing of Fathers' jackets all happening whole of last week. I must say, it's an exhuasting but eventful week filled with happiness and joy! At least for now, the only task left for our wedding preparation is only the table seating arrangements... *PHEW*
Popa and Moma 报病而来 for the food tasting hence they didn't really get to try / enjoy the dishes much and it's such a pity that most of our dishes choosen for the wedding banquet are some of Summer Palace's signature dishes! But Grandpa did enjoy his meals especially glasses of red wine after another served during the dinner. :) Overall it has been a good food tasting experience, hopefully our "approved" standards for this food tasting will stay consistent throughtout our wedding banquet.

Food tasting at Summer Palace / Fathers' studying the 4D results for the week / We tried Chef Liu's signature dish > some crocodile dish / Reviewing the banquet dishes with Chef Liu's assistant
We had our simple 过大 礼 (a Chinese wedding custom, a procedure whereby the groom to send the bride's gift as requested by Bride's family two-three weeks before the wedding day). We actually traveled for about 235km to delivering 喜饼 to relatives! That was like about 7 times around Singapore!!!
ah Thiang's Mom prepared the following:
> 2 bottles of Chivas
> 18 oranges
> 18 canned of pig trotters
> 2 pairs of dragon & phoenix candles
> 龍鳳鐲
> 聘金 and ang baos
> 10 boxes of cakes
Some of the items returned back to ah Thiang's family:
> 2 bottles of orange juice

My Advanced Valentine Surprise 2012!
10 February 2012
My ah Thiang, my love, my valentine! *XOXO*
I surprised him with a Holga lens compatible for his Nikon D200 as this year's Valentine's day pressie! Was browsing online to find out what lomography camera is all about and came across this website that sells compatible lens for Nikon DSLRs. They have ex-stock and my order was delivered the next morning at his desk! *sounds like our igus express catalog orders eh...* Photo taken using Holga or Lomo lens gives you those vintage or lomo effect without having to edits using editing tools. Cool right! But not so cool was D800 was out... and now his is aiming that to come... :(

And guessed what... the next day it's mine turn to get a sweet surprise from him! (Maybe due to my nagging to him hinting that I'm lacking to recieve flowers from him for the longest time... ooooops, HAHA!) I had a very late lunch Yesterday and when I return from lunch, it was already sitting beside my desk. My colleague accepted the delivery on my behalf. A vase of Calla Lilies with purple Freesias and a bear with heart was delivered in a lousy styroform box (LOL) on my desk. MY FAVORITE FLOWERS! SWEET!!! 庆祝元宵,庆团圆!
06 February 2012
元宵节 is also known as Lantern Festival, which is celebrated on the 15th day of the first Chinese lunar month. It is closely related to Spring Festival. This is the first time people see the full moon in the New Year. It is traditionally a time for family reunions. It is customary to eat special sweet dumplings called "Yuanxiao", round balls known as 汤圆...
Today, we did not have 汤圆 but we were all gathered at gram's house for a reunion feast prepared by Chef Ho aka small uncle! Such a bliss to have a former-chef to whip up delicious-ly decorated feast (standard can fight among the best few Chinese Restaurants hokay...) for every celebrations like this and I can see that grampa enjoyed tonight's reunion feast, VERY MUCH because he has the BEST appetite among us like never before!! ++still drooling from the feast...++
After the feast, I was back home unwrapping all my ang baos; my 压岁钱 > unleashing all the cash I have collected from the past 15 days of celebrations! MUAHAHAHAHA... this will be my last year to have such 'enjoyment' counting my 'earnings' for the New Year...

喜气洋洋过龙年!

Wedding-errands-time; 买嫁妆咯!
Suppose to meet ah Thiang to shop the stuffs for 过大礼 over the weekend but he was down with some allergy over home-cooked lunch... brought him to Raffles Hospital for two injections and he stayed home to recoup for the rest of the day... so left my parents and I to do the shopping (rewind & fast forward >> both me and Moma have like less than 4hours of sleep after a 通宵 MJ session with Nigel, SF, Thomas and ah Thiang which ends at 6am in the same morning!!! Both zonked out when we got home after all the shopping and I managed to clock a powerful 12hours of sleep before the next session with Moma and her future son & daughter-in-law the next day! LOL)...
We went Chinatown Market and there was a handful of wedding shops but don't know why we only go to that two shops side-by-side (nearer to the CK departmental store). I must say, their service level SUCKS big time! All yaya-papaya and has the same certain level of attitudeness (wana buy, buy... no buy then nevermind attitude...)! >_<"
Anyways, we didn't buy alot of stuffs... only bought major items like tea-set, lamps, 龙风烛 and the 彩头 (for the door)... since ah Thiang did not join us this trip, we will come back (going to other stores!!!) for better options to buy maybe perhaps after the parents-meets-parents session bah (see what can don't buy and whatelse must buy haven't buy)... I was told 过大礼 stuffs are also part of my dowry too!
