Father's Day Weekend!

16 June 2013

Today is Father's Day!

祝愿即将要当爸爸的,刚当了爸爸的和我的的爸爸们,父亲节快乐!

Yesterday had an advanced celebration with my folks and grand-parents (entertain them with a short mahjong session then dinner) and today with the family at Shin Yeh Taiwanese cuisine.  Had a 8-course set menu for 8 even though there are only 6 of us - difference for set of 6pax & 8pax is only $30 and menu has the cold platter combination, prawns, fishes, chicken, scallops, soup, noodles and desserts!  The bill coughed to about S$414...  I personally like the fried oyster from the cold platter combi.  It's delish.  :))

After the sumptuous lunch, we went for a walk at Forum then had tea at Maison Kayser, located basement of Wheelock Place.  Fwah, the toast tea set was YUMS!  I didn't take any photo cos I am so busy indulging in the yummy egg and ham toast.  The tart set tasted yummy too, some chocolate with coffee thingy (forgotten the name and I almost finished half of it).  Toast set comes with a drink of your choice, S$13 and tart set cost S$6 with a drink too.  I will come back again!

Yeo says he wanted to come down town to get a Timberland raincoat (prepared for the forecasted rainy weather in next week's Taiwan's trip) so we meet up and so happen that ah Thiang is also a cardmember therefore he is entitled to an additional 15% discount from the 50% sale!  #GSS2013

Decided to leave town for a local feast at Lavendar Food Court and queued for a 20mins wanton mee which tasted so-so nia... I still prefer the Hong Kong-styled yellow noodle.  It is considered very ex lah, S$5 for a decent portion... Jessie says it's only two-mouthful of noodles if you ordered the S$4 portion!  I really saw the auntie prepared the noodle, it's really as small as my fist (I think I ONE mouthful can finish liao).  O_O"

After dinner we went to nearby Chye Seng Huart Hardware Cafe for some drinks and cakes before ending the night.  From the outside, the place looked like a run-down hardware shop but in the inside, it is deco-ed just like any other hip coffee shop.  They have the ANNEX, which also features a roastery, a coffee school and a private coffee tasting room.

The Yeo's ordered the rasberry muffin (was not too bad) and marble cake (was too dry for Mrs Yeo's liking), ah Thiang ordered the daily brew which turn out not hot (so asked them to make another new brew) and my home-made lemonade was GOOD!  The first sip I took and burpped out just like I took first sip of coke, very gassy.  SHIOK!  The shiokness cost me S$5/glass.  Wonder what's wrong with the drinks pricing nowsaday... all so ex de... can eat a decent McDonald meal liao!  Booooo!!!

It is bascially another pigging-out weekend for me!  *oink oink*

Did a wardrobe check for my upcoming Taiwan trip and found out that I can no longer fit into any of my shorts and jeans in the closet.  NONE.  Siao liao!!!  :(  *contingency plan A-Z preeeease...!*
