SMURF-ing in Singapore!

26 August 2011

Smurfs are coming to town on BIG screens on 1 September!  Too bad I missed the date to pose for a picture with Clumsy Smurf, Smurfette and Papa Smurf mascots on 7 August at Bugis Junction (I learnt about it when I saw my friends - Ornigu & Dipsy posted their photos on Facebook!).  I am not missing this childhood cartoon on BIG screen therefore I am watchin' it!!!  :))

Overview

While on a mission to retrieve one final ingredient for Papa Smurf's potion, Clumsy Smurf accidentally falls into the Cave of Wonders, a magical portal which transports him from Smurf Village into the modern world mistaken for a toy, Clumsy is taken to New Jersey where he befriends a new family.  Meanwhile, back at the Smurf Village, everyone is up in arms over Clumsy's disappearance.  The Smurfs rush to concoct a plan to bring Clumsy home and simultaneously avoid the devious wizard, Gargamel that is always plotting to capture the Smurfs.

In conjunction with Singapore’s 46th National Day, over 50 Smurf figurines have been exclusively designed by our local celebrities, radio personalities and overseas artistes.  The list of participating celebrities include Fann Wong, Christopher Lee, Tay Ping Hui, Elvin Ng, Joanne Peh, Felicia Chin, Nat Ho, Jade Seah, Qi Yu Wu, Joi Chua, Derrick Hoh, Kit Chan, Olivia Ong, Jessica Liu, Bryan Wong, Chua Enlai, Dick Lee, and more.  These specially designed figurines are showcased in Bugis Junction (entrance of InterContinental Hotel).
